For half a year, Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious-disease official, and Kentucky senator and physician Rand Paul have been locked in a battle over whether the National Institutes of Health funded dangerous "gain of function" research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) and whether that research could have played a role in the pandemic. Against Senator Paul's aggressive questioning over three separate hearings, Dr. Fauci adamantly denied the charge. "The NIH has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology," he said in their first fracas on May 11, a position he has steadfastly maintained.

Recently, however, a tranche of documents surfaced that complicate Dr. Fauci's denials. The documents, obtained by Freedom of Information Act requests, show that the NIH was funding research at the Wuhan lab that involved manipulating coronaviruses in ways that could have made them more transmissible and deadly to humans—work that arguably fits the definition of gain-of-function. The documents establish that top NIH officials were concerned that the work may have crossed a line the U.S. government had drawn against funding such risky research. The funding came from the NIH's National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), which Dr. Fauci heads.

These "tranches of documents" is ridiculous. Numerous capable and the highest experts show no such connection exists.

Give it up! The political Kentucky senator and physician Rand Paul Huckster (who simply make his "expert" manufactured (by his brother-in-law or whoever) Board Certification in order to avoid his fees and then makes other doctors make money himself!

Congress has been complicit in having an unelected career bureaucrat with a million skeletons in his closet rule this country for two years.

That they won't indict him for the blatant perjury shows it's still going on.

 

Doesn’t this make you wonder why Trump didn’t fire the crook a long time before his term expired?

 

Trump at that point wanted to preserve whatever political standing he had left after the Left shouted for the Defense Authorization Act to overrule the 14th Amendment of the Constitution(for automobiles, textiles, etc to be indentured slaves for masks and ventilators.) and other such nagging things that the Presidency(per Biden) had no power to do in the first place. Trump perceived his political fortunes tied to keeping Fauci around, as the Left adored the 'man' who gave 'science' to the pandemic.

 

That's not entirely accurate. HIs lack of ethics and propensity for lying isn't *revealed* here. He revealed himself in the Spring of 2020 when he said "there is no reason people should be walking around with masks on." He later admitted he lied so the limited supply of masks and other COVID mitigation items were available for frontline workers.

I absolutely abhor lying and liars. I don't live with rose-colored glasses and I'm not afraid of the truth. At least, with the truth, I can make my own judgments and find solutions. With lies, that opportunity is removed and it's not realistic for liars to think it's cool because they did it for a "good" reason. I've been lambasted a few times for labeling him as a liar.

And, I don't understand why anybody is okay with that. How is it possible to NOT wonder if he's lying every time he opens his mouth because he lied in the past? Every word he speaks should be subjected to scrutiny. Every time I listen to him I wonder "Is he telling the truth or is he lying to manipulate me into doing X?" and justifiably so.

 

More importantly, manipulating coronaviruses with spike proteins as we have in the current pandemic virus.

 

Do what I do then, don't listen to the lying SOB.

 

IMO, that fact you mention confirms my low opinion of Trump. He is a poor leader and corrupt to boot. He and his cashed in on the scam offered by the CARES Act.

 

Just less so than Biden.
