Well that's another untruth I've heard someone speak of Florida.

I just got back from taking my significant other to the oncologist we were both required to wear a mask.

When I go see my health department doctor I'm required to wear a mask.


I went to the police department the other day on some business I had to take care of I was required to wear a mask.

Yea, some places in Florida are pretty strict. I attended a funeral and everyone had to wear one. Outdoor restaurants dont require one, although Miami is talking about imposing them.

She's maskless while eating and drinking. Kinda hard to do those tasks with the mouth covered. She's outside where making has never been recommended provided social distancing is observed as the virus past 6 feet gets dispersed and diluted unlike indoor air that doesn't flow. She's also vaccinated and not sick, the point of the mask is to prevent the spread not to protect the wearer. She's shown masked in other situations, including the restaurant when she entered, dealt with the server and left, basically when she wasn't eating.

She also went to Florida to visit her mom who... Lives in Florida. I'm not sure why people think that's a gotcha.

This is a bunch of people that saw a few out of context photos and latched on becuase they didn't have anything real to complain about. It's pathetic.

 

I was in the Sarasota area all week last week and saw very few (probably less than two percent) of the people wearing masks. The only ones wearing masks were the workers in the restaurants and shops we went in, and that wasn't 100% and everyone at the airport. They are very different from the area that I live in, and they are far from 100%, especially lately.

 

Dude she's dancing with people face to face. After great wailing and gnashing of teeth about how florida's policies were going to kill us all.
Its fair game to point to her and say "we're glad you now agree there is no issue, you hypocrite".

Well I happen to live not too far from Sarasota myself and I think you're wrong because even in this little podunk backwater I'm seeing far more than 2% of people wearing a mask

 

Maybe it's because we were at Lido Beach most of the time. A family member works in the ER at a Bradenton hospital and she said there is not a lot of mask wearing. She also said the ER is packed, but not from COVID, mostly flu and shootings.
My personal opinion is that the experts know that almost everyone will eventually be exposed to COVID, so the masks and other measures were to slow the swamping of the hospitals, so that more people will survive it. Watch the Smithsonian channel for a show on the 1918 pandemic. It's an eye opener, and to me, explains a lot of why the government reacts the way they do. Australia went to the extreme with the precautions. I'm not going to criticize them, because each country has to do what they feel is right.
It's easy to criticize the government, but I also realize that many politicians do actually care about their constituents and probably feel a lot of responsibility for their safety and doing what they feel is best, even if we don't like it.
