Reading on the forums here at PF lately, I've come to understand that the right is supporting Russia and Putin in this Ukraine conflict. I'm often told here at the forum that I myself am on the right. So I just had an observation to make.... Being that I am on the right, I just wanted to go on record saying that I hope Ukraine kicks the snot out of Russia and sends them home in humiliating defeat. I do not believe that annexing a country by military force is acceptable. So I just wanted to tell the partisan that are trying to broad brush me that they need to stop broad brushing an entire party. That is all. GO UKRAINE.... Make Ukraine great again!!!
I hope he gets his ass kicked as well, but not at the cost of global thermonuclear war. Right now all of the good outcomes rely on the Russian people rising up. Everything else leads to major escalation or concession to Putin.
What is confusing is that one side accuses Trump and supporters of being pro-Putin while the other side accuses Biden & co. of also playing into Putin's hands. There are those, nevertheless, who find both Biden and Trump unacceptable and don't want war and still support Ukrainian resistance to blatant aggression. Is there a label for us (not that I, personally, need one)?
Good! So, you agree then that Trump saying that Putin is smart and we are dumb was not really a great thing to say?
You can have that opinion all you want. But what else will you own up to? Because Putin looked at the weakness in the US before invading. Who else will you blame?
Yeah, because we didn't want a nuclear war with Russia we're weak. If trump would have still been our president we'd be little more than vapor now but we would have be tough and showed the world how strong we were.
I don’t get it. I’m 100% behind Ukraine and have been accused of being RW, even tho in a centrist. I don’t think I know a person who’s behind Russia. Haven’t seen Anyone even on this forum or the other half dozen I belong to that agrees with Russia. The world will be a better place with Putin gone. I’m hoping he will be removed, one way or another and we can get in there and start removing nukes.
I think the West and America in particular has done an amazing job giving Putin the belief he can keep taking land by force of arms. When it comes to deterrence and accountability we’ve failed on N.Korea on nukes, we are failing with Iran on nukes, we’ve failed against Russia, and we’ve failed against China. We’ve been so feckless we’ve been letting Russia buzz our ships and planes for years with no consequence or warnings. China unleashed a pandemic on the world and exacerbated it with lies and coverup that has killed millions and shut down economies, and we’ve said cool we still love you China keep you doing you bro Add the humiliation of Afghanistan and Biden’s green light to Putin to never use our military no matter what Putin does to Ukraine and it’s exactly zero wonder Putin thought he could take it with little consequence. Tip toeing around Russia and its ilk is exactly why we are where we are right now. Years and years of cultivating and pampering the Hitler mindset that has brought out the Hitler in Putin. Make no mistake there are plenty more like him waiting for the time to blossom. Thankfully the west, in particular Europe, have come down hard on Russia. But to say we’ve been dumb to date is a gross, gross understatement.
Because he is not alone. He does not exist in a vacuum and if we blame just one person who is a symptom of a larger problem we will end up in the same place we are now 10 years down the line. Bold assumption Trump would even care. More likely he would have threaten the EU into siding with Russia or else. Causing NATO to fall apart.[/QUOTE]
Isn't it fun to play what might have been... Your party assured us that if we elected trump it would be world war 3, it's starting to look like it's the opposite way.
We butt heads quite often but I respect you posting this. I can't cheer for war, period. I would like to see the Ukranian people stand up for their country and hope for as few lives lost as possible on all sides just as I don't care for Trump groupies (different from sane supporters) but it breaks my heart so many in pro-Trump counties are dying of COVID at 3x the rate of other demographics around the country. We are going to have to figure something out or we could be facing similar circumstances from our predators waiting in the wings to pounce on our divided house. I try not to broad-brush people but I'm devastated by what we've become. This is not the America I grew up in and it's not the America I want for my children and other descendants.
Wow that's nice, doesn't have a damn thing to do with my thread or my post that you're quoting though. Would you care to actually address my post instead?
Krane, did you need Bolton to inform you of that? I doubt Trump can find our 50 states on a map even if we spotted him the first letter of each name.
Dude, I have had the week from hell. That made me LOL. The funniest part is I swear I thought about him saying that as I was typing.
Conservatives are on Ukraine's side. Conservatives love liberty, love to play a major part in education of their children, and to bear arms. Liberals love to control others' lives... as in China Virus Mandates, dictating what kids should learn in school (even if against parents' wishes), and run their own businesses. Its quite simple.
You are aware of Trump's comments, about Putin's genius, yes? And you know about Tucker Carlson's defense of Putin? Yes, there are some on the right (more than on the left) who are either behind Russia, or very soft on Russia. I just grabbed a couple of examples; not all of the posters who would would qualify, by far. I didn't even want to read through, to look for their real dandies. But it should at least show that this is not some made- up phenomenon. In fact the OP of this thread, who is in with the righty crowd, admitted that this was the case, IIRC. You must not get around PF, very much.
