Nancy Pelosi confirms Asia trip but does not mention Taiwan

You forgot to mention this "gut feel" in the OP, and all your back-patters celebrated the presumed 'cowardice' if the Unites States because of your comments.

I mentioned her intent to visit (because it was despite of the death threats, and now its your gut-feel. LOL.

 

In the OP I stated FACTS, exactly as they were known up to the moment that I wrote it. What has followed later FOLLOWED LATER. If Pelosi was planning an August visit to Taiwan, why was it not publicized in the same way that her April visit was before it all had to be postponed because of her getting COVID...? My "gut feel" is my "gut feel", and nobody is paying me $200,000 a year to sit in a back-office think tank to play hypothetical, geopolitical "what if" games. No, my friend, I'm giving you that for free!

Here's another little big of wisdom I'll share, straight from "my gut" -- if Pelosi goes to Taiwan, even on an 'unofficial' visit now, she's a hero, and frankly, for the sake of the United States, I hope she does! It won't carry the 'weight' of an OFFICIAL visit, but even if all she does is touch-down, get the T-shirt and leave the next morning, it'll make Xi Jinping look like a 'face-losing' chump. TFB, Xi! And it won't break my heart one bit, either, Pro. Now, have a lovely day.

The reason for not revealing all the details of the visit are obvious to most people given the fact that China threatened to murder her. Even the speaker, or even POTUS has to listen to the military and secret service when it comes to issues like security. The visit is official since she was officially invited by Taiwanese leadership, but if its not official enough for partisan critics, then so be it. They are obligated to complain no matter what happens.

 

Even FOX is walking back their earlier complaints. Looks like she is spending the night in Taiwan, so the 'touch-and-go' theory turned out to be another wild guess in a series of wild guesses.

This could get interesting -- reports are buzzing now that the Chinese could attack or invade Taiwan just before she is due to arrive Tuesday. Other reports say that the Chinese will launch hostilities, and possibly invade the minute she leaves. Whatever occurs, believe this -- in the deep-seated culture of East Asia, Xi Jinping knows that he DARE NOT 'lose face' to either America or Taiwan, or both!

As it stands right now, he is going to lose a tremendous amount of 'face' if he hesitates while Nancy Pelosi pulls off the greatest PR coup of her lifetime in Taiwan.... TFB, Xi...!

If China was going to attempt a full scale invasion of Taiwan it would be fairly obvious from activity in relevant ports, airfields etc. You can't hide something that big. My bet is that, as with Russia & Ukraine, the US would be calling out China on its preparations. Even if that wasn't happennig, someone would have noticed. Those exercises aren't sufficient cover to hide something that big.

Of course, at the moment China lacks the ability to invade the main island of Taiwan if anyone tries to stop it. Seems unlikely Xi will risk it without MUCH better odds.

I think she should go because we need to test how stupid and dangerous China can be if they want to play on the world stage.

I expect in the next week, or so, we will learn about Pelosi's trip after it happens, and it will either be no big deal, or we find ourselves at war with China based on how we're being annihilated in a nuclear exchange at the moment. Expect to be woken up early by your phone blaring the national emergency alert signal.

 

If you're right, then it's XI JINPING who gets to be humiliated, lose 'face', and be made to look like a fool! The wonderous duo of Putin and Xi is not looking too 'stellar' right now... but never doubt for a minute that Xi knows exactly the enormous loss of esteem that Pelosi's visit will mean to his standing as the leader of China. And it's up to us never to turn our backs on either of them, because Putin and Xi are 'joined-at-the-hip' and they are pursuing an alliance, and a commonly-based agenda... as I've pointed out in this Forum repeatedly for at least the past three years!

Hint: the minute Pelosi's plane safely touches down in Taipei, Xi's reputation immediately turns to SH!T... and it couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

 

You may be quite right, and if so, then that means that Xi Jinping's public 'face' is reduced to being something just barely one level above that of North Korea's Kim Jong-un and his silly little rants and goose-step dance displays aimed at South Korea. To put it simply, in the realm of international geopolitical politics, you either have 'wood', or, you have access to a mega-dose of "Viagra". Currently, it is by no means obvious that Xi Jinping has either....

 

Much more interesting examples of masturbation than those that may be staged by China are easily available all over the internet. My 'gut-feel' is that the Chinese will do NOTHING while Pelosi is actually in Taiwan. Xi Jinping isn't going to directly attack an American Speaker of the House of Representatives. No way!

well, china always said there will be military action, but it didn't say what, so technically live fire drill is military actions. but this likely mean china will accelerate its military modernization. if and when china is on par with US military, then my guess they are not gonna let these kind things happen the 3rd time

This assumed "loss of face" seems to be a big deal to you, but I don't think most people really give a rip, because it really doesn't mean squat in the end of the day. There is only one recent politician who would think the world ends if he is "humiliated" and fortunately that politician is no longer around.
