    Sandy Shanks said:
“We’re going to walk down to the Capitol, and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women. You have to show strength, and you have to be strong.”
“When you catch somebody in a fraud, you are allowed to go by very different rules."
“We fight like hell and if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.”

President Trump was speaking to violent, far-right groups who believed him when claiming the election was stolen.

    That says it all.

USA Today reports, "The House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on the U.S. Capitol released its highly anticipated final report, presenting a full account of its findings on former President Donald Trump's efforts to maintain power.

"Here are some key findings from the report:

"The report puts the blame squarely on the former president: "The central cause of January 6th was one man, former President Donald Trump, whom many others followed. None of the events of January 6th would have happened without him."

"The committee recommended that the Justice Department prosecute the former president.

"The report gives a damning account of law enforcement's response to troubling intelligence before the attack. The risk to the Capitol was "foreseeable," the report said.

Trump tried to speak with Georgia's secretary of state 18 times in an effort to overturn Joe Biden's win in the state.

"The entire White House senior staff was in favor of a Presidential statement” urging all rioters to leave the Capitol, the report said.

"Two days before the assault, then-President Trump persisted in his desire to accompany demonstrators on a march to the Capitol, suggesting 10,000 National Guard troops could provide protection for him and an entourage.

The Republican National Committee received millions in donations during the days that followed the 2020 election, having its most successful period of the campaign cycle while giving credence to former President Donald Trump’s unsubstantiated claims that he won.

The Hill reports, "Former President Trump railed against the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection following the release of the committee’s final report on the attack.

"Trump said in a video posted to Truth Social that the American people have been “deceived with lies” about the attack from the committee."

Note: Trump never commits fully to a plan of action. He is more interested in protecting his butt. Consequently, he tries to have it both ways as the following illustrates.

    The Hill
continued, "Trump said the committee “cut the part” of his speech at the rally at the Ellipse preceding the riot out in which he said protesters will be walking to the Capitol “peacefully and patriotically.”

"He said in his speech at the Ellipse that he knows people will go to the Capitol “peacefully and patriotically” but also said in his speech that people must show “strength” to “take back our country” and called on people to “fight like hell.”

"Trump also rebutted the committee’s statement that he did not respond to the violence for 187 minutes, when he told rioters to go home and leave the Capitol, saying he posted a tweet after 25 minutes and another 30 minutes after the first tweet.

"But Trump previously slammed Vice President Mike Pence in a tweet before these two, saying that he did not have the “courage” to do what was needed to protect the country and the Constitution. Note: This caused his violent supporters to urge "hang Mike Pence."

"Trump repeated claims that he urged for the deployment of 10,000 to 20,000 National Guardsmen to keep the event safe, but he never signed an order for the Guardsmen before or during the riot. Note: Another illustration of Trump wanting it both ways.

The last is almost comical. "Trump falsely claimed that Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser refused his push for deployment of the National Guard. The president serves as commander-in-chief of the D.C. National Guard and only he has the authority to deploy them," The Hill.

    This is Trump defending himself.

No wonder Republicans are staying quiet about their former President. Trump is an idiot.

Sure it does. Bipartisan doesn't mean 'pro trump', any sane republican is anti-trump, he's a menace to America

The investigation's purpose was to find out why it happened. Donald Trump is the 'why', but, of course, that was rather obvious but they wanted to know the details, and it's all about the details.

It's not a trial, that's for the DOJ.

He posted on Christmas Day that Pence had the authority to overturn the election which basically means a dog whistle to MAGAs to stalk and terrorize Pence and his family again. He's so hateful and destructive.

What kind of psychopath keeps repeating a lie in a bid to get others hurt?

I don't understand why anyone needs a report. The whole world outside North Korea saw what happened. I don't speak to any of them at all but I wonder what the reaction would be if...

POTUS Bush waited 3+ hours to speak to us when the Twin Towers were hit.
POTUS Reagan waited 3+ hours to speak to us when the Challenger exploded.
VPOTUS Johnson waited 3+ hours to speak to us when Kennedy was assassinated.

Even if he truly requested 10,000 NGs and said "peacefully and patriotically" he had a duty to engage backup the second he realized they weren't being peaceful.

Nothing explains him going silent for 3+ hours.

    It's indefensible.

It was a one sided political vendetta, as I have pointed multiple times. And as such it is just as lacking in evidence as you claim the evidence against Biden to be.

What you fail to point out is that if there are no hard core Trump fans on the committee, it's republicans own fault for filibustering it in the Senate and McCarthy's petulant pulling out in the special committee, so your complaint has no leg to stand on.

They have testimonies from over 1000 persons, most of whom are Republicans, plus 100s of thousands of documents, emails, texts.

Clearly, you do not know what you are talking about, and to compare that to Hunter Biden's laptop is total delusion

If you were honest, you'd read the report and keep an open mind.

What you fail to point out is that two republicans who were appointed by the person who will likely become the speaker of the house, were rejected by Pelosi. That set the stage for McCarthy who then decided that it was better to let the democrats go alone than lend it credence by appointing only republicans who were likely to go along with the democrats.
    With no real cross examination.
Clearly, you do not know what you are talking about when you talk only about the laptop.
I haven't read mein kampf either, but I don't have to read it to know it is BS based on who wrote it.

And the DOJ and FBI missed it all...............................shouldn't we fire Garland and Wray and the officials in charge of investigating it for incompetence?

It their prosecution of the insurrectionist the government prosecutors not only did not persue such a claim the file a motion with the Judge to disallow such defenses against them.

The committee didn't have the burden of taking over 800+ rioters to court convicting them et cetera naturally the DOJ has more on their plate and will take more time But I suppose such a glaring detail eludes you

    Right?

    I thought so.

And the DOJ engaged in it largest investigation ever with thousands of agents and they have already taken the conspirators to trial and got their convictions and not once is Trump even listed as a coconspiritor let alone charged with a crime.

Show me the evidence they presented showing his involvement with what happened at the Capital.

I don't need to but you should. Some think and even want Trump to go to jail even though he has never been charged with a crime.

    And again

And the DOJ and FBI missed it all...............................shouldn't we fire Garland and Wray and the officials in charge of investigating it for incompetence? How did they miss all the alleged crimes by Trump?

Any Republican who represents themselves instead of who elected them is no Republican in my view. But that standard equally applies to whatever you want to call fake Democrats. What was Manchin and Sinema called when they wouldn't play with fellow Democrats?

So if a Republican wants the truth about about Trump’s behavior to be exposed you must automatically label them a neo con. No thinking just a knee jerk reaction I see.

Corrupt like Trump, Trump’s business organization, and the family of Trump.
The people elected Cheney she therefore represented the people. The most important thing is Cheney stood for our Constitution and the spirit of the founders who conducted the handing over of the presidency to the next person who the people elected. So you appear to trash Henley or like.y anyone else who does not support Trump ‘s unsubstantiated lies that there was fraud ( affecting the outcome ) of the 2020 election.

The select committee is not a prosecutor that is why it turned over the results to the DOJ.

Nope, that's why she was censured and lost her election. The voters were fed up with her not representing their interests.
