Uh huh. Thought I would extend to you the opportunity to clarify before simply writing you off as racist, but I suppose that was a stupid idea.

Now, being that you are shown racist and all and only care about black people, what exactly is your argument that anybody else, and especially anybody not black, should care about black people?

I wish you all a Happy New Year. Hopefully, reparations will be paid to Californians who are descendants of African slaves sometime in 2023. It is long past due.
I realize slavery is a hard subject for most Whites to discuss honestly. Slavery was a very cruel, inhumane system.
But the best way to get past it is to pay RE
LOL! You are too easy. Thank you for displaying your ignorance for all to see.
Hope your New Year is Happy and Bright.

Racist lady wont deny it and runs away from those who notice it. Nothing special here. If we do reparations can we exclude her in particular for this racism of hers?

For many, sure, especially in the youngest generations. But treating non-white people as equals was a cultural battle conservative society fought against for a long while. Same goes for treatment of homosexuals. Today most conservatives have no issue with treating gays and blacks as equals, and the demands for different treatment based on race come from so-called "progressives".

    It is quite a reversal.

Yup. White guilt is a really stupid concept and also racist. Pushing race as the core of your identity or as the core of the identity of another person is stupid and toxic, as is transferring sentiment from one person to another just because they have the same skin tone.

Any time you hear "you blacks do this" or "you white people did that" or "We people of colour think this" You know you are hearing from a racist. People are individuals, not interchangeable representatives of a skin tone. You are not any more responsible for white slavers as Neil Degrasse Tyson is for Bill Cosby's rapes.

So your emotional pain can be bought? Will you receiving money ease the horrors your ancestors may have suffered?

I have ancestors that died in the gas chambers of the Nazis. Money is not going to change that, especially since it won't be coming from those that killed them.

So, Mariah ... how are you going to determine who is black?

And don't say 'papers', because you know that will be argued right out of court by the far more numerous people who don't have any records.

Liberals did and still do. But "progressives" really only pretend to be liberals, while being the opposite.

She wants to pretend that she is her ancestors and that reparations to her is them being compensated for the horrors done to them, instead of her herself benefiting from it. And are we even talking about her ancestors in particular, or just people from history who happen to have the same skin tone?

There is a genius on this thread who asked "How do you prove who is Black"?
My question: "How do you prove who is White?"
    I'll wait. :icon_picknose:

Agreed. And I'm only talking about Progressives ... who are not in any way, liberals. They're more like the ugly stepchild of Leftism.

Yup. And Moriah wanting to do so and wanting to discriminate for this based on race instead of by victimhood of slavery tells me everything i need to know about her, and leaves me unable to take her seriously.

I have empathy for actual victims. I dont transfer that empathy to others who just happen to have the same skin tone.

While I enjoy genealogy as a hobby, there have been some fun stories along the way, and some horrors. But, it doesn't change who I am. I am responsible for me, no one else, even with that infamous 'one drop' theory.

Weighting your life based on what was done by people who are likely not alive at this time, to people who are likely not alive at this time, corrodes your life. You have more to offer than the color of your skin. Physical attributes (Black, White, fat, skinny, blue eyes, brown eyes etc) are NOT the person inside, unless you CHOOSE to make it about the external factors. And then that is your flaw, no one else's.

I think it vital for not just the left but for all of society to keep that distinction clear, especially as politics gets so polarized. Also important to keep Trumpistan distinguished from conservatism.

It benefits nobody for the back and forth to go from liberal vs conservative to woke vs trumpers, leaving the sensible people out in the cold.

So let’s say said black person is not a descendant of a slave, do they still get the money? If so this isn’t reparations for slavery but rather a racist bill designed to oppress and strengthen based on color of skin.

Have a hard time debating? What’s the point in putting anyone on ignore? Would you prefer a political friends forum rather than a political debate forum?

I would argue it’s not a stupid question at all. Likely one you have a difficult time answering.

The founders didn’t enslave anyone. They bought slaves that were enslaved by their own. Americans also paid for it in blood. In fact, if not for whites there would still be slavery around the world.

I guess my family would be rich. My daughter in law and granddaughters would be worth a million dollars.

People need to realize that this money doesn't come from the government. It comes from our pockets and the rich have all of the loopholes figured out for them. California is circling the drain.

They want a million a pop for reparations now.

Chair of California's reparations task force says black people are owed $1MILLION each, demands black HOMELESS are compensated for 'discriminatory housing practices' - and says the money will 'boost the economy'

The chair of California's Reparations Task Force said black people are owed $1 million each and that black homeless people needed to be at the forefront of the proposed compensations.

Speaking with the Rev. Al Sharpton on MSNBC, Kamilah Moore said her task force found that California's redlining housing practices targeting black Americans between 1933 and 1977 has had a direct effect on today's homeless community.

Dubbing housing discrimination as one of the 'five state sanction atrocities' against black people, the panel initially recommended to California lawmakers that the state pay up $223,200 to each black resident.

Moore previously said economists on the panel estimated that black Californians descended from slaves were owed $1 million per person in reparations.

If I had a million dollars
Well, I'd buy you a monkey
Haven't you always wanted a monkey?

What a contrast between Greasy Gavin and Ron II.

Ron DeSantis Activates National Guard Amid Surge of Illegal Aliens Entering Florida Keys
    [IMG]
"As the negative impacts of [President Joe] Biden’s lawless immigration policies continue unabated, the burden of the Biden administration’s failure falls on local law enforcement ..."

While Ron II works to secure Floridians, Greasy Gavin want's folks that held no slaves to pay other folks who were never slaves, in a State that was not part of the Confederacy, because he knows that he will need the Black vote in the South to secure the Dem nomination.
