You're right. It should be laughed at.
    With Ethiopia?
I guess they both float. Otherwise the 3-5 possible cruisers are more likely to be used to scare schools of fish.
I also have a super carrier in my bathtub.

How is that modernization effort going to continue without computer chips?
Oil magically transports itself to China I guess. And China definitely doesn't rely on global trade.
Yes, you're right. The Chinese call them suicide ships now.
We have a number of simpleton generals and officers in our military who are happy to preach PRC prop.
The j-20 won't be able to detect the f35. The radar on the f35 will be able to detect the canards from half-a-globe away and shoot down the j-20. The j-20 won't even know it was fired on before it blows up.
They should rename themselves the Center for Fictitious and Silly Stories. Didn't they say Ukraine was dead in three days?
You're right. They should be dismissed as a third-rate military who has stolen technology which can be very dangerous to the U.S. and particularly to neighboring countries. China has gained enough wisdom to stop the nuclear saber rattling so there is still hope for their integration into the rest of the world.

That will not happen. The DNC won't allow him to run.

The idea is for a country to do what is in its best interests. I think the U.S. does that pretty well internationally. It fails domestically, however.

Not a good thing to say to Americans. We won our independence from Great Britain in a revolution. Taiwan, let by Shang Kai Shek won its independence from China the same way. Nature has taken its course. But you have been fairly anti American so your position doesn't surprise me.

Underestimating an enemy is absolutely foolish. I think our military is certainly superior to China’s at the moment, but to be so absurdly complacent about them is a mistake similar to the one that Putin made underestimating his enemy, and one he is currently regretting. Be smarter than Putin.

Overestimating an enemy is wasteful ,stupid, and quite frankly evil. AKA Vietnam. I'm not advocating an invasion of West Taiwan. Is that what you're advocating? In that respect, I only need to estimate their ability to attack, which is basically nada. The most dangerous thing about China are their intercontinentals which are mainly defensive and prestige weapons as most of the PRC's weapons are. All of China's non-nuclear weapons are insignificant and really bad. Over half of their population starves within a year of any attack they make. It would be stupid for China to attack and doing so will end up being more catastrophic to them than Russia invasion of Ukraine. I believe Winnie the Pooh understands this . Try to be at least half as smart as Winnie the Pooh.

I heard on the radio that Biden is going to run for another term. I don't know how true this is, but I've heard about it.
I understand that none of the adequate Americans will vote for him if he nevertheless puts up his candidacy, but we know that real elections do not take place at polling stations.
Mark Twain also pointed to this - ". If voting made any difference they wouldn't let us do it"

The fact that the United States in the international arena successfully defends the interests of the state called the United States is absolutely true. And, for example, Russians have a lot to learn from the United States in defending their state interests.
But the fact is that the very concept of "State" does not always meet the interests of the citizens of this state.
Comrade Lenin said - "The state is the dictatorship of the ruling class in the interests of the ruling class."
That is, we can say with confidence - the United States (as a state) in the international arena SUCCESSFULLY defends the interests of the RULING CLASS of the United States.
And the US state does not care about ordinary US citizens. Therefore, the US government gives billions of dollars of taxpayers to the military-industrial complex, hiding behind Ukraine, but does nothing for its citizens. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer.
But it must be admitted that the state defends the interests of its ruling class very well.

Whether someone becomes richer or poorer in the U.S. is not really related to government spending. It is related more to the actions one takes in life.

The advantage of the democratic election system is that politicians, while not particularly caring about the population do care about re-election so they pander to the public when they consider it to be an advantage. The major problem is that they engage in vote buying which is terribly expensive. Government was trying to pay down student debts to the tune of $10,000 per student loan. Imagine paying $10,000 for each vote. Fortunately that plan has met with serious push back. Nevertheless we have spent trillions in the past couple of years buying votes. It is political corruption. You suffer from the same thing in Russia as does every country. The difference for us is that the corruption involves more money than it does in other countries.

I do agree that defending interests is more in line with the interests of government than the interests of the people. But the lawmakers are guided to a degree by voters and polls. I wouldn't describe it as self rule as some do, but it is possible for the population to have some influence on government actions. If an American politician considers that a particular position will win more votes than the alternative, he or she will vote for it. The system isn't perfect but it is better than whatever is in second place.

US citizens can live the way they want. As the scripture says - "do not grumble at your ruler, for every nation is worthy of its ruler."
I can only draw your attention to the fact that the US still has a medieval electoral system. Where, even theoretically, elections depend not on the votes of the electorate, but on the votes of special electors. And we have repeatedly seen when the voters cast their votes quantitatively for one candidate, but the special electors promoted another candidate.
However, these are the problems of the people of the United States. If you like it that way, it's your right.
Another issue is the imposition of one's political convictions on other states with the help of economic or military pressure.... But here we return to "defending the interests of the ruling class."

As for Russia, Russia today has capitalism. And all the vices of capitalism are naturally present. The Russian ruling class will fight for their interests just like the ruling class of the USA, Germany, France...and any other country in the world with the same economic system.
    Therefore, wars are inevitable.
And given the fact that in a military sense, the Russians are not inferior to any country, then, in my opinion, the optimal solution for coexistence is the division of the world into zones of influence, taking into account the interests of each of the parties.
Today, the West is not ready to accept the loss of its status, so there will be a war and a "decisive battle", which will inevitably lead to the determination of the boundaries of influence of new centers of power. Unless, of course, a nuclear apocalypse happens, which has great chances.
In general, let's look at the development of events.

I already told you - you don't have to sign your comment. We have long known who you are.

But if we talk about the finances of the population, then you should not get hung up only on incomes alone, you must also take into account expenses.
For example, tell me what is the average income in Latvia and how much does it cost to pay utility bills, how much does gasoline cost, how much food, medicines, medical services cost ...etc.
And tell me how many citizens of this country live in Latvia?

Not true. The electors are charged with voting for the candidate the voters in the state chose. They do that 100% of the time. The purpose of the electoral college is to even the influence of state populations. While more populous states do have more electors the differences in population would cause a small number of states to determine presidential elections. The founders wanted the president to be elected by the states, not the individual voters and not by a handful of states. So the solution was the result. The political hacks in the more populous states want to eliminate the electoral college naturally but the system has worked well for quite a few presidential elections.

That is true. California has the largest economy of all the states. That economic power gives the state the ability to mandate things on manufacturers that the other states must live with since the manufacturers don't want to make products just for California. This has been a problem for a long time.

Wars are not inevitable because of capitalism. They are inevitable because of greed, power and politics.

I doubt the rest of the world has any interest in Russia re-organizing the planet. You would retract your belief in the power of the Russian military if it ever had to go to war with the U.S. I don't think you understand the difference in power between the two militaries.

So you suggest I go to a different forum filled with morons and idiots to learn about the Chinese navy.

    No thank you.
A few things here. I'm sure these morons had highly successful careers successfully smashing a sub into the ocean floor or running a destroyer into an oil tanker. However, they don't know diddly squat. First, if they did have inside information and risked telling us, that would land them in jail. Second, it's pretty obvious none of them know anything about China and are simply spouting out PRC prop China was happy to give. I don't think the morons are doing this on purpose, they're just too stupid to know better.

So, this silly "fifth generation fighter" and "jumped an aircraft carrier generation" silliness shows just how little people who think China is doin' awesome actually know about China. Winnie the Pooh is putting on a show - primarily for his own people but also for the clueless abroad.

You should head over to one of those forums - maybe China Defence Forum - and give them the benefit of your ignorance. I am sure your ill informed bluster will amuse them for a few moments before you storm off proclaiming your own genius.

Fortunately the professionals tasked with planning for future conflicts actually base their decisions on information rather than the bluster of online blowhards. They understand that the Chinese Navy is rapidly expanding its capabilities and presents a serious challenge in the areas where the USN can expect to fight it.

You're projecting. I'm right here and haven't stormed off anywhere. You're just declaring what you're like since you haven't posted anything of substance against my pointing the errors of their logic.
You'all are acting like Putin where the mere existence of the PRC is considered a threat.

You'all haven't put anything of substance on the table. For me, I think the best way to corner China is to put more effort in preventing them from stealing U.S. technology.

The number of ships is 100% irrelevant when measuring the strength of a Navy.

You would think the voters would have considered the disaster he made of San Francisco as mayor. Obviously Californians are a bit confused about their own self interest.

    1. I repeat once again - if you like to elect according to the rules of the Middle Ages, then this is your right. How you argue this is irrelevant to me. This is your choice.
    2. Wars are inevitable because of the economic crisis. And, as Comrade Stalin said, "in order to destroy crises, capitalism must be destroyed." That is, there is a direct connection between capitalism and the factor of war.
    3. You, as always, repeat the same mistake - you call the USA, the EU and several other countries - "The whole world."
    But it's not.
China, India and Pakistan are already half the world's population. And these countries support Russia. Also, Russians are supported by all of Africa and most of the countries of Latin America, as well as the Arab countries.
Therefore, look realistically at the world - the political "West" is only a small part of the world's population. Which, by the way, is losing its weight every day both in the world economy and in world politics.
What to talk about if there is no unity even within NATO?
Therefore, leave the pernicious habit of writing on behalf of "the whole world." You don't know exactly what the rest of the world wants. And judging because the rest of the world at least does not object to the Russian special operation in Ukraine, and in Africa, and in Asia, and in a number of countries in Latin America ... and so on, it can be assumed that "the whole world" is not against the world order scheme proposed by the Russians.
And, in general, I advise you to read the media from other countries for an adequate perception of events.
