What did I post that was “dumb”? I simply pointed out Biden disseminated disinformation! Try to avoid the use of more fallacy if you can.

Please provide evidence my statement was idiotic in light of the statements by Biden and a trauma doc that 9mm blows the lungs out of the body and that cannons could not be purchased at the time of the 2A ratification.

Because some anonymous trauma doctor is not who I'm talking about when I say he needs to consult with Medical forensics experts. In fact, it doesn't actually matter as much who he consults with as it does who those who draft the law consult. Whoever the WaPo consulted for the article I referenced seems pretty knowledgeable. It will be up to gun advocates to show that he/she is wrong.

So you would become a victim of a crime, perhaps a terrible crime, or let your family become a victim rathen than use a gun?

How about those that bodyguard rich liberals? Should they have and use guns?

Hmm... Well, the gov of TN is responding. Armed school officers. Do you think a hormone enraged Trans is going to engage an armed guard at the front door again? I doubt it. So yes, thoughts and prayers. But action. Protect the shooting grounds that these cowardly sadists have used as their private hunting grounds. no more.

Its funny...when you talk about 'gun nuts', you are talking about people that know and understand guns...characteristics, ballistics, even the effects. I'm a little different than most folk because I have no qualms with the deadly capacity of any given firearm. While they exist for a myriad of reasons and most will never be used to take life, any weapon purchased for home defense, personal defense, or ultimately defense of community and country not only should be deadly..it damn well better be deadly.

the .223/5.56NATO round is effective at killing...thats why the military used it for several decades. It is an effective stopper...that is why police departments and other law enforcement agencies use it.

There are several relevant points. 170 million law abiding citizens own approx 400 million firearms...and approx 40 million are AR variants. Those ARs come in NUMEROUS cartridge style and types so when you parrot the talk about the deadly impact of ARs I say 1-no ****...thats what its supposed to do, 2-if you eliminate the .223/5.56 round ENTIRELY you still have 87 different calibers and types of munitions that do NOT do the same thing the .223/556 round does.

Do you want to me to long and short it? You are talking out of your ass. The anti-gun people you parrot are also talking out of their ass. You legit believe that the AR is somehow more deadly than say a Ruger Mini 14 Ranch Rifle. You think a 22lr round would explode peoples lungs...if fired from an AR platform rifle. An anti-gun group has convinced you and others (probably it was a very easy sell) that ARs are evil...and you then go about happily parroting what you are told to think and say.

According to the Police Chief, the trans shooter passed over other targets precisely because they had guards.

If you are here to troll I am done with you. You attempted to make some point concerning the design of bullets. Your point was not clear, perhaps due to an obvious lack of familiarity or experience with firearms, ammunition, or guns. I asked for clarification of your point and get a snarky response. Are you here for an actual discussion or to troll?

Yes! The one I quoted. There are hundreds of reasons why children die in the world: famine, wars, car accidents,... What relevance is there to how many die of inner city violence to the topic of school shootings? We save the lives we can save.

Embryos are not children. But if your religious belief is that they are and that, for that reason, abortions should be ilegal, then THIS thread is about one topic that should also cause you to be enraged. But, instead of that, you try to derail it. Abortion is NOT the topic of this thread. My comments about abortion are in threads ABOUT abortion.

One thing you can be sure about right-wing gun advocates is that they will look for ANY excuse to change the subject. And the only reason I can think of to do that is that they have NO arguments. This thread is about saving lives lost to our gun epidemic (which means an insanely high number of guns out in the street) in school shootings. If you have anything to say about that, go for it! But stop trying to derail it.

But you changed the subject... bringing up a quote that was non-existent. I never said anything like what you quoted. Neither verbatim, or inferred. This isn't just an example of Strawman, you literally just made something up entirely.

I explained to you that there is no number of deaths that would convince 2nd Amendment supporters to rescind this Constitutional right.

It's also important to understand that no one here actually believes you want restrictions on guns, because you're concerned about the children. You support it for purely ideological reasons... which have nothing to do with protecting children.

Did I quote who said that correctly this time? Whatever the doctor said (I don't even remember what it was) to assume because of whatever that was that forensics experts who dedicate their life to studying this don't understand the topic is most clearly "dumb" (to say the least)

Now... please don't ask me again to repost dumb statements you make. I will not do it. When I do I feel like I'm helping spread ignorance and propaganda. I only do it this time because last time I attributed it to the wrong poster.

He has ALREADY consulted trauma docs. And they told him 9mm blows the lungs out of the body. He believes it and tells the country the same. You don’t see a problem with the President dealing in disinformation? I thought you guys didn’t like disinformation from presidents?

The WaPo article doesn’t even get the muzzle velocity of a .223/5.56 correct. It’s off by a third. No big deal except it confirms the consulted folks are not experts.

    Next is this statement.

This is false. The AR-15 is near the bottom of the heap when it comes to “destructive power” of rifles/rifle cartridges. Popular hunting cartridges like the .308, .270, .243, .30-06, .22-250, etc. all have similar or higher muzzle velocities and higher to much higher muzzle energy (a function of velocity and bullet mass). This means the .223/5.56 has FAR less destructive power than most other common cartridge/rifle configurations.

Of course on average rifles/rifle cartridges are more “destructive” than pistols/pistol cartridges. But the AR-15 is very low on the totem, and not unique in any way in the context of “destructive power”. So your WaPo article, if based on facts and logic, could advocate for eliminating rifles/rifle cartridges, but claiming AR-15s are uniquely destructive is simply not factual.

The repeated claims being shot with an AR-15 is not survivable while being shot with a 9 mm would be is also ludicrous in light of one of the featured shootings in the article. Half the people shot in that shooting with an AR-15 survived. One was shot 5 times and survived. Multiple shots from a 9 mm can also be fatal. As demonstrated by the fact twice as many mass shootings are done with handguns than rifles of all kinds. If the victim’s weren’t dead, they wouldn’t be classified as mass shootings.

Are rifles (especially hunting rifles) more “destructive” than pistols on average? Of course. Are AR-15s uniquely destructive? Absolutely not.

As I’ve already said, you, Biden, and others need to either educate yourselves or pick better educated authorities to appeal to.

I get you appeal to authorities that appeal to your emotions. But the “expert” Biden is relying on claimed 9mm blows the lungs out of the body. Even your WaPo article debunks what President Biden said. And his history “experts” told him you couldn’t buy cannon at the time the 2A was passed. Both these claims by Biden are disinformation. From what you say are “experts”. Disinformation from “experts” is still disinformation!

You don’t need to quote my posts. Up to you entirely. I’m not an authoritarian. Just don’t MISQUOTE me. But what I post is verifiably correct. So referring to it as “dumb” or “ignorant propaganda” only makes you appear disingenuous and unable to discuss factual information.

Pointing out the people you think are experts are factually incorrect is not dumb. It’s doing you a service in helping to educate you so your opinions can be based on facts, not falsehoods like you are getting from your “experts”.

do you think you should have a better understanding of ballistics and firearms if you want your currently factually deficient arguments to have more weight?

What are you taking about? How could he. He's dead! He died when he engaged MANY armed guards. But not before 6 kids lost their lives.

If you mean OTHER shooters.... maybe. But it's a band aid to stop a hemorrhage.

No. I'm just talking about gun nuts who put their love for guns before the life of human beings... especially children. There are many people who understand guns (most!) and will be important contributors in any gun legislation that might be enacted and who actually DO value human life.

If you have a specific question, quote the part you are not understanding, and ask your question in a clear direct way.

Asking "What is your point?"... THAT is a snarky question that can only be answered with a snarky answer. And it would be more adequately described as "trolling" given that I have made SEVERAL points, and they are all in the OP.

more blatant dishonest dichotomies. This false and emotobabbling statement pretends that if people cherish their rights, they want children to die-or at best, don't care. We don't for a minute believe the disarmament lobby cares about children-they only use children to advance their anti rights agenda. They appeal to emotion because their real motivations are unpalatable to most Americans

I changed the subject? This thread is about a school shooting and you want to talk about "inner city violence". The definite implication is what I expressed.

You're doing it again. The 2nd A has NOTHING to do with this. There is NO Constitutional right that protects killing children. Heck! There isn't a constitutional amendment that grants some "right" to own firearms. But that's a different topic.
    http://www.politicalforum.com/index.php?threads/history-101-why-the-2nd-amendment.586263/

Really? What ideology is that? If not saving lives, what does it have to do with? If this is an introduction to some "world domination" conspiracy theory or.. anything like that... don't bother. But if you have a serious answer, please explain.

you are right-the second amendment merely prevents the federal (and now state through the 14th) government from interfering with a right we had since the dawn of time.

It’s amusing the progressives who claim to disapprove of misinformation and disinformation eat that garbage up and defend it.

Facts that conflict with their feelings are fallaciously labeled “stupid” and “propaganda”.

I think they would have better luck proselytizing long term if they were honest. Nobody in their right mind could trust them with policy when almost everything they claim supports their policies is easily demonstrated to be false.
