Russian mercenary boss vows to avenge alleged army attack; Moscow denies accusation

So, Prigozhin (Wagner boss) said the whole war is based on lies, and now Russian army has attacked Warger troops. Looks like the wheels are falling off the Russkie machine, and Wagner might end up fighting for Ukraine.

LONDON, June 23 (Reuters) - Russian mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin on Friday accused the Russian military of "destroying" his fighters, without fully explaining his accusation, and vowed to stop the "evil" of the military leadership.

The Defence Ministry quickly issued a statement saying Prigozhin's accusations "are not true and are an informational provocation".

In a series of audio messages on his official Telegram channel, Prigozhin said:
"Those who destroyed our lads, who destroyed the lives of many tens of thousands of Russian soldiers, will be punished. I ask that no one offer resistance."

 

Prigozhin is getting tired of Putin emptying his gulags and calling it an army. All the men of recruiting age left Russia long ago. The end is near for Putin and he has to know by now.

 

I don't know what to make of this on its face. It looks like some kind of coup against the Russian MOD specifically. I can only guess that Piggy wants a higher station in the hierarchy. I imagine that Putler might be open to that also, as the Russian military clearly needs reform and Piggy might be the SOB to do it.

 

I think this guy is ready to flip against Russia, and Russia against him. Actually it seems it has already happened

The head of Russia’s Wagner mercenary group on Friday accused the country’s military leadership of ordering strikes on the group’s camps and killing a "huge" number of forces.

In an extraordinary declaration against the Defense Ministry, with whom he has been feuding publicly for months, Yevgeny Prigozhin vowed to “stop” Russia’s top military brass and urged ordinary Russians to remain calm.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that President Vladimir Putin was aware of the "unfolding situation" around Prigozhin and that "all necessary measures" were being taken.

Russia’s Federal Security Agency (FSB) has launched a criminal case on charges of inciting an armed revolt, the state-run RIA Novosti news agency reported, citing the National Anti-Terrorism Committee.

"We were ready to make concessions to the Defense Ministry, surrender our weapons," Prigozhin said in a furious audio message released by his spokespeople.

"Today, seeing that we have not been broken, they conducted missile strikes at our rear camps."

I idea. I wonder if it even happened at all. Sounds like a provocation, as the regime officials are saying. Kind of like that false flag car bombing that was done on the eve of the 2022 invasion of Ukraine. It's just to get people fired up emotionally and desired in the right direction.
