Supreme Court strikes down Biden student-loan forgiveness program - SCOTUSblog By a vote of 6-3, the justices ruled that the Biden administration overstepped its authority last year when it announced that it would cancel up to $400 billion in student loans. The Biden administration had said that as many as 43 million Americans would have benefitted from the loan forgiveness program; almost half of those borrowers would have had all of their student loans forgiven... One of my favorite decisions from the current session. Time to step up and pay, snowflakes. Welcome to the world of adulting.
Hi, InWalkedBud. The United States of America, with its republic form of democratic government, faces a problem in its educational systems. For many years, a public free education of 12 years duration -- ages 6-18 -- was considered adequate to equip a child to become a functional adult, ready to undertake an adult life. Recent developments in the job marketplace suggest that the original concept is now inadequate. Jobs which will support a 'normal' household require advanced technological skills. This has led to pressures to obtain a 4 year college degree. The cost of such an undertaking has grown large in the past decade. There are other factors at work, too. A partial answer, perhaps, can be found in the two-year colleges. That, in turn, may require a change in the thinking of company HR departments. The solution to the problem, and the financial burden it presently creates for many college students, is not yet in sight. Regards, stay safe 'n well.
The court decision has nothing to do with the system of education in United States. It is about fairness and another attempt to buy Democrat votes.
