Yes there are similarities and there are differences. Devout partisans see things through the telephoto lens handed to them by the party they follow. I see people criticizing their own reflection.

What are you talking about: What I wrote absolutely and directly refuted what you wrote:

Pelosi refused McCarthy's choices for the panel and subsituted two of her own. There was nobody on Trump's side on the panel making it partisan and pointless. She was afraid people would hear opposing views. Just normal political corruption. I don't really care but apparently you do.

    Unrelated my ass.

They moan and spew outrage, after impeaching Trump for false evidence twice, aided by FBI/CIA/Military Complex. These people have not been through the fire. America had a black president for eight (8) years, and now they are screaming racism louder then ever. They accuse others for what they do, sniveling scum. Biden is not even being impeached. They are really ANGRY because they know how inept Biden is and his low approval rating. The poll shows Trump and Biden tied? No way. The majority are for Trump and America, that point has been made by the majority this year very clearly on anything 'woke'.

Differences of magnitude, such as that of an ant to an elephant.

Odd to see you use that example after accusing others of using a logical fallacy.

if I had made a logical fallacy, you might have a point.

    Care to elaborate?

Yes. You compared the 2 to an elephant and an ant. This fallacy is known as oversimplification. People who use this fallacy are all the same.

I did not compare the two to an elephant and ant, I compared the ant/elephant as metaphor for substantial magnitudinal differences.

No, yours is a fallacy fallacy, which is the misapplication of a logical fallacy.

    I wrote:

There's a big difference between complaining that you lost though you won by more votes, and losing by fewer votes and not accepting the vote,. and going around the country spreading lies about the election being stolen, and doing it at rallies incessantly

    Your response:

Yes there are similarities and there are differences. Devout partisans see things through the telephoto lens handed to them by the party they follow. I see people criticizing their own reflection.

You failed to acknowledge, accept, my premise that the two differences are substantially different in magnitude.
It's not that you failed to accept it, it's that you failed to sufficiently articulate your point that they are of similar magnitude, which, clearly, they are not.

The ant to elephant metaphor is not simplistic given that it can be simplified to a small and large comparison given that my point has to do with comparable magnitude, though it might be an exaggeration, but it's not unreasonable given that my analogy is metaphor and the degree of magnitudinal differences between the highlighted red and blue above, are, indeed, quite great and, as such, a metaphor cannot be precise, as it's precision is NOT the point, the difference of magnitude IS the point.

    drivel.

Would you like some cheese with your WHINE?

You guys haven't won the popular vote in 2 decades, so this idea that you are the majority is bunk.

I already accepted that there are differences as well as similarities. Now you are using the Reps defense. Devout partisans end up criticizing their own reflection.

Oh, please, let's not kid ourselves, you were trying to conflate the two as comparable in magnitude.

    "Differences' isn't description of magnitude.

they are vastly dissimilar in magnitude, and you won't admit it, right?

You compared the two to an ant and an elephant and now you don't want to kid ourselves? You are criticizing your own reflection on this one.

It's a metaphor for illustrative purposes.

Sorry, you are apparently not aware of the fact that parameters of a metaphor, when done for illustrative purposes, are not literal representations, yet you are implying that they should be, which is absurd.

I get it, those comparing similarities are making a false equivalency fallacy, while you contrasting the two using the ant and the elephant is only a metaphor, not subject to the same criticism. I suppose you drive the only reasonable speed and all others are either too fast or too slow. In reality, your example is further from the truth.

Apparently you are metaphor challenged. Until you cure that defect, not much I can do about it.

This will be my last post in this thread. Consider it let go.

One thing that all politicians have in common is that they play with the minds of the masses.

It is a beautiful day here in So Cal. Have you gone outside?
