McConnell froze again - he's partly brain dead - worse than Biden

Oh, was that your point? What in God's name would make you think that McConnell's malady could be sourced to soybean oil? This is what I mean, about your treating "seed oils," the way MAGA treats the Left: as due the blame, for everything!

Insulin resistance, anyway, would not cause what we are seeing with McConnell. The genetic changes associated with soy oil, the researchers believe could be connected to brain conditions like autism and Parkinson's disease (not likely what we are seeing w/ Mitch). I'll mention-- once again, from your own article-- that there is
no proof that even soy oil, is the cause of these conditions.

We need a debate between Biden and McConnell.

And a dark magic, to be sure!

Seriously, though-- this occurred quite suddenly; Mitch seemed right as rain, less than 6 months ago. It now surfaces in my memory, that around the midterms, Trump was calling for the ouster of McConnell. And now, conveniently, Mitch seems to, out of nowhere, have diminished mental capacity. I realize that such things can happen, without warning, but the timing seems a striking coincidence, and especially fortuitous, from Trump's perspective. I'm not saying that Trump cast a spell on him, only that it makes me wonder if whatever has stricken Mitch, was a completely natural occurrence. Sort of the way Clinton emails found their way to WikiLeaks, after Trump's "Russia, if you're listening," comment. Now, Trump puts out a political mark of death on McConnell, and months later... I'm just sayin'-- kind of weird.

Term limits, perhaps. Age limits, no. For congressmen and Senators Two or three terms on, one off. Gives the electorate a chance to bring back an effective member. Other that that it's today's world. From what I've read I'd have voted for John Anderson at 90. Their running mates could become more of an issue as they get older.

I didn't endorse any theory; I was just noting some interesting coincidences. Didn't you see that I was "just sayin'?"

As an update: I have learned more about the McConnell situation, that makes an innocent causation seem less of a wild stroke of luck, for any Republican Presidential contenders, who have expressed the desire to get rid of him. Back in March, McConnell suffered a fall, which was serious enough to hospitalize him, and keep him out of the Senate for several weeks (funny, no one here, seems to have noticed the event; or at least, I didn't see anyone post a thread, about it-- not even those who find even Biden's stumbles, important enough reason to begin a thread). Since that March fall, McConnell as fallen twice more, that have been reported. So I can imagine some medical cause, that either led to all of the falls-- like a brain tumor, for example, though it seems to me that this is something that doctors should have found, by now-- or that the first fall led to repercussions, like a brain bleed, which in turn has led to his current circumstances.

So now you can lay to rest the theory that the bad orange man was somehow possibly involved.... Unless of course you think the bad orange man was going around possibly putting banana peels in front of his feet....

Maybe it can be explained because of the concussion he had several months back. The real irony is that the question he was asked before freezing was about his own re-election. Coincidence? Who knows, but when legislators start having these kinds of health issues, and I am including Diane Feinstein here too, they should resign. I work with quite a few seniors who still have aol accounts for their email and trying to update them to the 21st century is a hard slog.

I don't pretend to know but just from observing I think what we saw with those 'freezes' were TIA's, i.e. mini strokes that temporarily affect motor skills or consciousness or speech or something else controlled by the brain. They almost always dissipate with no residual effects after a few seconds or minutes. They of course are a warning of possibly more severe strokes but generally blood thinners or other appropriate meds take care of the problem. My husband had a series of them that lasted just a few seconds. His doctor fixed it by prescribing one 81mg baby aspirin a day.

Having said that I do think Mitch should retire after this term.

Funny image. But I'd never suggested that Trump had been personally, physically involved. The idea, was that perhaps someone was attending to Trump's publicly stated desire. It would be possible, I imagine, to make a person susceptible to having an accident, with a mild dose of various drugs which might not necessarily be detected by either McConnell, or by the hospital.

But even that, I certainly did not allege-- having no evidence, outside of the coincidence. I was just being open minded, to all potential possibilities, as is my habit. To wit: this news of McConnell's troubles beginning in March, does not "put to rest" the conspiracy possibility (as this was only a few months after Trump had called for McConnell's ouster)-- it only makes the sudden malfunctioning of McConnell's mind, seem more easily explained, by mundane causes (which the odds, of course, would strongly favor to be the case).

Yes, I learned about the concussion, subsequent to my first post about the coincidental nature of the timing, in this dramatic turn in Mitch's mental health. I did a follow up post on this--
    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...orse-than-biden.613179/page-3#post-1074406689
-- but I'm not in the medical field. Actually, the reply that I just received from our fellow member, @Foxfyre, seems like a pretty credible guess: TIA "mini-strokes." Based on her husband's experience with this, it sounds very treatable, with blood thinners (for her husband, baby aspirin, sufficed).

It's kind of amusing to me, how many of us, have speculated such a wide range of medical theories: from "seed oils"-- in the view of Fresh Air; to the speculation by Bowerbird (who does have some medical background, perhaps veterinary) that it is tacky-Brady syndrome or sick sinus syndrome-- which though, I find highly dubious, if you are interested in a non professional 's opinion.

She needs to go away. Anyone in their 80s can’t understand the needs of most Americans.

And your evidence of this is...? Because she, herself, is wealthy? That would imply that you think our best leaders would come from our electing a legislature of average Joes and Josies. Common folk. Unremarkable. Not especially bright or accomplished. Yes?

Don't get me wrong-- I am definitely not a elitist. I am in sympathy with your sentiment of wanting "real people" to represent us, but to exclude someone because of their wealth, and ignore the wise judgement they've exercised, and their clear competence at the job, is just foolish. Just being "normal" does not, in itself, qualify one for the work of Congress. Issues are much more complicated, than they were in the distant past. And it takes an uncommon amount of drive, and persistence, to achieve much, in Congress.

Everyone has their blind spots, or their less clear areas of understanding. But these have to be considered, on the whole. Pelosi is just more knowledgeable than most, in a general sense. She is clearly very intelligent, but also clever, and wise. She is more dedicated to the goal of the country's good, I believe, than we could expect from most. The real question, is has her wealth left her unable to understand and empathize with the situations of those of more moderate means. I think her record, puts that notion, to rest. We must also remember, that having a pluralistic society means acknowledging the value of many different types of life experience-- not just of those of ours, which are the most mundanely average.
