Do white people exist in commercials anymore?

The thing is that some of these LGBTQ+ kids don't live in homes where they can be out or at least feel that they can be. I mean sure schools shouldn't have graphic sex stuff of any type, but to the extent that they have those mushy straight girl paperbacks, I see no reason they shouldn't have mushy lesbian girl paperbacks. Perhaps to you that is an "agenda", to me it is just about being fair and treating different common interest groups equally.

 

Have you seen the prevailing theory about why kids think they're in the wrong body? It's because it's trendy and popular these days, plus it gets the kids more attention. Why stoke it when pretty much all of us figured it out on our own?

 

And to me that is a different issue entirely and is not being stoked by having LGBTQ+ YA novels alongside the straight YA novels.

 

You know what's really bad? I just watched a commercial that didn't have any people at all! Just food! Who do they think is going to eat that food? I don't feel represented by these commercials that are clearly meant to appeal to inanimate objects. Carl's Jr is definitely not getting my business.

For real, though, I can only hope my life is so easy some day that I have time to waste giving two shits about how infrequently white people appear in ads.

Now the funny thing is all of you on the left here who are downplaying this issue would be fully on board with it if minority representation on commercials was much less than their population percentage.

 

Another day, another 'white victimhood' thread. Always goes the same way:

1) Make a questionable or false claim reinforcing the idea that white people are victims;

2) Wait for the usual suspects to turn up with their own made up stuff;

3) Ignore any actual facts that might derail the narrative;

4) Blame 'the librulz' for the stuff they made up in the first place;

5) Treat any criticism of made up claims as proof you are a victim.

6) rinse, repeat.

They live for this stuff. Apparently a reality where there are non-whites on TV commercials and even - GULP! - depictions of black males with white women is triggering. Remarkable.

 

The horror! White women with black men! Miscegenation! Miscegenation! So triggering it gets its own stand alone sentence. What kind of person even thinks this is worth commenting on, let alone highlighting?

I really wish this stuff surprised me. Now I'm surprised if it doesn't happen.

So, I showed you that white representation is increasing and black representation is decreasing . I thought you'd be happy to see that. Or maybe there's something else that's really bothering you.

 

Commercials really do not matter all that much.

Diversity in advertising is actually tracked. Minority representation(actors) actually fell in 2022 from 2021. Obviously 2023 data isn’t yet available. Forbes normally has articles on the issue.

So, do white people exist in commercials anymore? Yes. They’re over represented as usual.

 

How old are you because you have NO idea what it feels like for ANYTHING of yours to be stripped away if you’re a minority. You’d have to be DEAD to know what it’s like. Any minority living today ONLY knows what it’s like to be elevated and see growth. NOT decline. And any decline is SELF INFLICTED.

Sorry. White people don’t control YOUR culture, one that does NOT prioritize education and excellence like Asian or Jewish households. White people didn’t cause your 70% single parent household rates which are the core of nearly every issue. White people don’t create music that doesn’t exactly preach decent role models or behavior White people in the past couple generations have done nothing but try to fix what was done in the past. And YOU have had many generations now to turn it around but nothing has changed besides policy WHITE people have established to give you every advantage possible to succeed.

Don’t blame WHITE people for a culture problem you guys won’t let go of.

Its not about seeing black people on TV. Jesus. Favorite show growing up was Cosby. I live and work around POC daily. 1/2 my neighborhood are diverse families. Upper class diverse families.

Just reading your comments it is apparent how much you have been following my remarks.

But I am going to ask anyway — what “culture” do you believe I am not letting go of? What “representation” do you believe I am speaking of?

 

To me, it's not a matter of 'this was awful, so we should do the same thing in reverse:. It should be a matter of meritocracy. I do not care if it's a black actor, a white actor, or a mexican/hispanic actor or a jewish actor. I care if they are GOOD at acting, and portraying the commercial accurately.

The country that prided itself on meritocracy, has died. The country is perfectly represented by mr. numbers himself[Joe Biden]. He only sees this country as a freaking digit, and particularly the digits that are most favorable in San Fransisco land/New York, rather than the nation as a whole.

In 2024 and 2028 elections, voting for someone else, anybody else by any measure. We don't need racists and segregationalists in the WH, and Biden is both.

 

5.5) Vote for Trump, because he will make whitey the top of the totem pole, again.

 

What's the agenda? Ask the company making the commercials why they need a black husband, a white wife and two kids who are Asian and Muslim. How many families are like that?
