  1. I would vote for a permanent dictatorship so long as the dictator agrees with my beliefs.

  2. I would not vote for a permanent dictatorship even if the dictator agrees with me.

    You're dealing with people who equate limited government to a dictatorship. There's no fixing...whatever that is.

    My reasons are a hell of a lot better than the GOP/MAGA voters who already cast a ballot for dictatorship in 2016, and intend to again in 2024,

    I look at it differently. You could be right (you're not), the Heritage Foundations plans could be totally misrepresented by AP (they're not), not likely because AP does have it's credibility to maintain. But when I saw this I read many other reports so I could cross reference the different stories I was finding to see similarities and patterns. In any case, we're talking about the future of The United States. So, unless you're a foreign agent or a home grown anarchist, these things need to be taken seriously. You be you.

    No. What I want is strict and literal adherence to the constitution. If a dictator can figure out how to rule within those constraints, then sure, they can dictator all they want. I dont think thats possible tho. Thats kinda THE ENTIRE PURPOSE of the constitution.

    I understand your position. However, I don't think it's the only way. The others will be very very painful. But not as painful as giving up our democracy.

    You are not wrong. Except in the case of Trump who is actually PROMISING he'll rid us of our democracy.

    One of the ways Lazarus Long (Robert Heinlein) says people lie is by telling the truth, but telling it in a way that those who listen don't believe it. That is the danger: they are not listening to what Trump is actually SAYING he will do.
