The average profit margin on a gun is 5%. Stop acting like gun dealers are turning huge profits on gun sales.

So it is okay if they take fifty years to ban natural gas...

Our local pawn shop sells guns new and used. They just went out of business the other day. Kind of odd don't you think?

The point is gun dealers are not making tons of money and that's exactly what this bill is designed to do is make it even more difficult to operate

It also doesn't say anything about the government forcing you to have a permit. Do you understand what the definition of keep and bear means?

In the 250 years since the 2nd Amendment was enacted, arms have grown in capability and we, as a country, have decided that some of those arms are not covered by the 2nd Amendment.

For example, we SEVERLY restrict who can own a fully automatic rifle. We don't allow people to own grenade launchers, flame throwers or hand held surface to air missiles.

I don't see anyone from the pro gun movement arguing that the ban on those weapons constitutes a violation of the 2nd Amendment. So we, as a nation, do agree that the 2nd Amendment has limitations. What we are arguing now is where to draw that line.

he's on record wanting the government to confiscate all privately owned firearms and kill anyone who resists. So when he supports these measures, you have to ask if it is because he sees it as an incremental step to banning all guns

the complete ban on automatic rifles after May 19, 1986 was a spiteful reaction to a pro gun bill being passed-not because of any rational law enforcement need. it is unconstitutional. the other weapons are more a tenth amendment issue

actually the margin isn't very good. the purpose of these laws is to harass and shutdown gun dealers.

I have represented gun dealers, gun clubs, gun makers (including a title II machine gun maker). You have no idea what the profit margin is on guns and with the internet and transfer dealers who don't stock stuff-the margins are even lower

really? I want felons punished when they use guns to harm others. I want people who use guns recklessly to be fined or jailed, depending. I want people who knowingly supply violent felons etc to be punished. You want to harass lawful owners. I want to jail criminals.

Yes we know you don't want to jail criminals. and yes, when someone gets extra time or an enhanced sentence for using a gun to facilitate a robbery or rape that is the only proper type of rules concerning guns in the criminal code

That's why CCW permits are unconstitutional.

The problem is- how much regulation is too much? Why not mandate they carry a billion dollars in coverage? You think everyone can afford everything? Or you just don't care when legislation runs the little guy out of business compusling things that only the big box stores can absoarb the cost of? Where would you rather shop- locally owned or Walmart? ...or do you just dont care when its businesses that you personally dont engage with?
