    HYPERLINK has full article

    snip

Flexport is planning to let go of more people from its workforce. This time, it could be around 20 per cent of the total headcount. The company had already cut jobs by 20 per cent in October 2023, ...

Flexport is an American company ...............

The company’s main office is located in San Francisco, California. It has lots of employees and makes more than 3.3 billion dollars in revenue every year.

    end snip

Not a high tech firm but yet another SF based company with more significant layoffs. These notices of mass layoffs do not bode well for us given that it's govt and food-service are the 2 top places of new hires. How do you go from a good-paying job into working at Taco Bell? Not everyone will land a nice govt job. We the people cannot afford more govt jobs given the rising debt.

Okay. So can you explain your motivations behind posting - on a VERY regular basis - all of the companies that are downsizing, going bankrupt or laying off?

So it's all for our benefit? You don't have any views on why these things are happening? This is, after all, an opinion forum.

Wonder if Sec will continue posting every time someone loses a job if Trump wins the White House. My money is on no, as that would be attributing blame to Trump in the same way his posts attribute blame to Biden albeit by implication only now since he's dropped the "Democratic votes have consequences" ending. Nope, these posts will end because blaming Trump just will not do.

The ironic thing is, if Trump had won in 2020 and then these layoffs started as they always would have, there would be no announcements every time one of them happened.

So we're not supposed to believe that we're paying far more for groceries than we were 3 years ago and that rent has gone through the roof and that the cost of pretty much all goods and services are way up?

That's right folks, don't believe you're lying eyes and your wallet and your bank account... Believe this lying administration that told you that inflation was just transitory 3 years ago.....

Elect Biden to a second term, the prices on his avatar might well look cheap. With a fresh four years and no need to worry about reelection, the Biden puppeteers will have him killing all of the future oil leases and killing other fossil fuel industries like liquified national gas exports.

Yes, the Biden puppet has done that no reason other than having its strings pulled, perhaps by the Communist Chinese run Tick Tock website. Natural gas used to be “the clean fuel.” Now it just another target of environmental extremism.

No, leftists only care about layoffs in the public sector. Government employees are one step below sainthood. Layoffs in the public sector, if they ever occur, are major catastrophes.

Private sector employees are often suspect for progressives. All of those who have worked in a Trump organization are devils to varying degrees.

Isn't it funny when we have a government shutdown that the only thing that seems to shut down are the parks?

They sure as hell managed to pay themselves and give themselves hefty raises whenever they want.

I thought the US broke all records recently for oil and gas production.

That is mainly because Biden shut down the pipeline which cut us off from Canadian supplies. In the mean time, the Biden puppet is shutting down future oil development by denying government leases which take years to bring on-line.

During a shutdown, government workers in essential services must continue to work - without pay.

Yes of course it's all the evil corporations fault.... Those who provide jobs and goods and services... The government has nothing to do with it and their policies don't affect the economy.

So price gouging is okay as long as a company provides jobs/goods/services?
