As for not getting his shoes dirty, it was my understanding that his relations with the blue collar construction works in his building projects were quite good. And as for “Midwestern farms,” it’s your party that is thrusting them with high inheritance taxes that can break up family farms. One of you far left breatheran, on these boards, called for confiscatory inheritance taxes. The result of that would be that big corporations, and probably the Chinese, would end up with most of the farmland.

Well expressed. ACF American Christian Fundamentalism can be described in either of two ways, it is Christianity reinforced at the points where the liberals were reinterpreting it, and claiming that without these points it isn't true Christianity. That is one narrative, and hardly anyone would deny that our Bible has lots of metaphors. The other and I suspect more applicable narrative is that ACF is a reductionist cut down religion that isn't much use to anybody. Certain bits have been accentuated (the five Fundamentals) and therefore the other parts have been de emphasized. The development of ACF was funded by an oil company so I tend to believe the second narrative, that the morality has been de-emphasized and the salvation emphasized.
