This is great news for Bobby Jindal.

After Katie Britt's piece, he no longer holds the title for "Most Ridiculous Post-SU Rebuttal Speech".

 

I would like to know how they "jacked him up". He was an angry old man. He acknowledged Laken's killer was ILLEGAL but doesn't explain why he insists on letting them in and never removes them.

 

Trump is _still_ raging on Truth Social. He's at over 75 posts now, and still going. He's clearly losing his mind.

The funniest part? He's calling Biden "angry".

Someone needs to take the phone away from grandpa Trump, and lead him off to bed. Maybe hang a BigMac in front of his nose, in place of a carrot.

That is like saying that eating a lot does not cause obesity, but not exercising does. Everyone knows that laziness and gluttony together cause obesity.

Cutting taxes while spending more cause the national debt to rise. When Republicans have the power to do so they cut taxes for the rich and raise military spending, even when the United States is at peace.

With this in mind, I will try to evaluate President Biden’s State of the Union Speech. I may be more able to do this than many people because I agree with GOP on its most popular issues, which are its stands on crime, race, and immigration. I agree with the Democrats on progressive taxation and legal abortion. These are strong issues for the Democrats.

On several occasions I have demonstrated that most Americans would like a more progressive tax system than the one we have.

According to Gallup, 51% of Americans want abortion to be legal under some circumstances, 34% want abortion to be legal under all circumstances. Only 13% want abortion to be illegal under all circumstances.

Nevertheless, many Republican politicians favor an absolute ban on abortion, so I think Biden was correct in stating his support for legal abortion. He seemed to be spending too much time stating his support for IVF. I had to go to the internet to learn that IVF stands for “in vitro fertilization." I doubt that is a salient issue for most Americans.

On the issue of race, Americans oppose racial reparations by 68% to 30%.

On the issue of affirmative action in university admissions, Americans favor the recent Supreme Court decision by 68% to 32%. Even most blacks favor it by 52% by 48%.

On the issue of crime, Americans favor capital punishment for murder by 53% to 44%.

On the issues of crime, race, and immigration a Democrat politician who wants to appeal to a national audience needs to tread lightly. I think Biden did that in his speech.

I will wait for fact checkers to judge the accuracy of Biden’s assertions about good economic numbers. If his assertions are accurate, and if things keep improving. the economy should be a strong issue for him in November.

Biden needed to tread lightly on the war in Gaza, because Democrats are more likely to support the Palestinians than Israel.

I think Biden did this, combining his long time support for Israel with his belief that the Israeli Defense Force has over reacted in its response to the recent Hamas attack.

I disagree with Biden’s support for a two state solution in the conflict between Israel and Palestine. Nevertheless, I liked the speech. It reaffirmed my decision to vote for him in November.

I agree with Hitler that what matters is what most people thought and felt about Biden’s State of the Union Speech.

The SOTU speech really doesn't matter much does it? When you get right down to it, the election will depend on two things: whether people's lives are better now than under Trump, whether they have more disposable income, the price of gas, whether they can afford to buy a car, a house, go out to eat once in a while, etc. AND how afraid people are...about a terrorist attack, about the crime in their neighborhoods, about their children being called to go to war. These are the things people care about and will drive their vote.

It certainly was inappropriate to turn the SOTU speech into a hostile campaign event. He can campaign any other time. This speech is supposed to be focused on common ground. It's a time to come together. His speech was very divisive to say the least. And the old fart had no class speaking to the SCOTUS like he did.

The delusion of "brainwashing" began during the Korean War because Communists tried to indoctrinate prisoners of war. Nevertheless, at the end of the Korean war the vast majority of South Korean prisoners returned to South Korea. The vast majority of American prisoners returned to the United States. On the other hand, a large minority of North Korean prisoners choose to remain in South Korea. A large minority of prisoners from Communist China choose to move to Formosa.

Those with the intelligence to get graduate degrees have the intelligence to do their own thinking, and they do. If you want something similar to brainwashing. talk to the poorly educate people Trump pretends to love, and ask them when was the last time they read a book in its entirety.

Please explain how cutting taxes does not lead to budget deficits. The only time I am aware of when tax cuts happened at the same time the national debt declined was the 1920's. During that time the military budget was cut too.
