• Easter is not a fixed day on calendar. Easter is calculated by the lunar calendar, so any day between March -June could be Easter.
• True Christian don’t celebrate holiday, true Christian worship Jesus Christ.
• The message of “Good Friday and Easter “ is that the world rejected Jesus Christ and killed him for it. Any Christian who thinks on Easter day, government of the world will facilitate Christian to celebrate Easter completely missed the message of Easter and need to read Bible. May be buying Trump Bible is a good idea.

 

Plus the Puritans, for all of their many faults, were actually pretty progressive for their time. I mostly poke fun at puritanism in the more colloquial usage rather than Puritanism proper. But great point.

 

You still haven't explained why you think it's insulting. The existence of transgender people isn't any kind of attack on Christianity or Christians. Some transgender people will be Christian after all, and plenty of Christians are accepting, or at least truly tolerant, of transgender people.

As for distraction from Easter, that only came about because a handful of political agitators (not religious leaders) posted about it on social media and Fox "News" decided to spin it up in to a story. I doubt you would have even been aware of the White House statement otherwise (after all, you weren't aware of it the previous three years). I suspect that anyone who actually cares about the true message of Easter would be more disappointed about their faith being used as a tool for partisan domestic politics, even if they don't approve of the government recognising the Transgender Day of Visibility.
