The US attempted to write self-serving Production Sharing Agreements (PSAs), but Iraq wanted nothing to do with them. We seem to at least agree on the latter half of that statement - that Iraq wanted nothing to do with them. Once Obama got into office, and the Bakken reservoir find in North Dakota gave the US new oil, Iraq and PSAs became less important. Eventually Obama pulled us out of Iraq and WMD claims were forgotten, and the US was $6 Trillion poorer.

Remember - GW Bush inherited a deficit surplus, with the debt starting to be reduced. GW quickly reversed that course.

 

They definitely get an assist on the play. But Biden's the guy signing multi-billion dollar spending bills.

The Republicans in Congress balanced the budget and yes they did, for a short period, create a surplus until the Democrats regained control of Congress. It was actually only a surplus if you ignore SS.

Biden and Trump juiced the economy by jacking up asset values--real estate, stocks--rather than take action to improve productivity.

Because it's all related to the time, and the debt and irresponsibility of GW Bush was legendary. Corporate corruption was rampant. The housing crisis was predominantly the result of a lack of attention to what was happening right under their noses. They led us into the worst recession since the great depression. Two wars - the Iraqi oil war and the Afghan war. They inherited a budget surplus, and totally F'd everything up in 4 years. Your Party has a very bad track record of late. What has gas to do with home prices except they both are increasing in price, like everything else? What do homes have to do with gas prices except that people can't pay to fill the tank to get to work.
All prices are going up... I'm a homeowner. But my heart still goes out to younger folks who may never be able to have the AMERICAN DREAM of owning a house because prices are through the roof (pun intended).
