    No.

Yes we have the highest standards of living and some of the highest earners in the world. You would prefer a system where we all make the same and the government decides how much make?

What wage is being stolen from people who did not take advantage of the free education afforded them that would have enabled them to get a job at a good wage? If they can produce no more for their employer than they did 10 years ago why should they expect their wages to go up?

Government has every reason to, thus a minimum wage.

We cant claim the moniker of “greatest country in the world”, and have people dying and starving in the streets because they cant generate wealth for someone else. That is what literally differentiates America from every other third world country. America is great because we take care of each other, and we help our fellow man.

America is literally a game of monopoly. In monopoly, once all the money is concentrated into very few hands, the game is over, because their is no-one to buy your product, (pay the toll for landing on your property). “Sorry, you landed on my property, so now you pay the toll, and if you dont have it you are bankrupted”…..

I truely believe that if those who call themselves conservatives (trumpists) have their way, we truly will become that third world country.

What makes you think I didn't realize that? I asked the question so that I could specifically point that that many people completely ignore the value associated with the other half of the transaction. The dollars end up concentrated because goods were distributed. If the people wanted the dollars more they would just keep them... This directly addresses the other guy's complaint about "wealth hoarding". If the rich are hoarding wealth in the form of dollars, then the consumer must be hoarding wealth in the form of goods.

Yeah, and the good is the value to the consumer. The consumer clearly thinks the good is worth more than the dollars. Who's losing here?

No. Your post was incomprehensible, so I gave you an opportunity to explain. But if you are so desperate for victories that you fabricate them, by all means, take the 'win'.

What is greed? Who is greedy certainly not you and me I guess.

Again please explain this claim you are making that the highest earners want everyone else to be poor, how does that act in their own self interest?

Sure it has reasons to regulate. Just because you have a reason to regulate doesn't mean your action will produce the outcome you want. Especially when the underlying premise of your regulation is false.

All trades produce wealth for someone else. Find me one person starving in the street "because they can't generate wealth for someone else" A little investigation into the life of that person will most definitely produce a much more nuanced root cause. Walk out on the streets and you'll find victims of domestic violence, drug addiction, mental illness, etc. And you'll also find a market that these same people access to trade for goods and services. It's not a strictly legal market, but they are still producing value for someone...

If I want to see a third world in America I don't travel to conservative regions....

Not sure. I haven’t reviewed the details yet. Rent is so high in much of the state, I doubt it’ll have much impact on the profitability of rental property.

99 cent stores just closed nationally, too. Shrinkage and costs.
The bigger problem is every employee everywhere is going to demand $20 starting. Who would you hire a 18 year old kid or a 25 year old illegal who will gladly work overtime for cash*.
FYI, you pay them $15 (usually) depending on the job and you save by not paying fed, state and local deductions.

    Huh?

You don't think that controlling the value of property has an effect on the value of property?

    Why regulate it then?

If workers could produce wealth for themselves, why don't they? (Legally)

You’re assuming this applies to designated rental property like apartments, and not single family homes or condos.

No it doesn't nor is it owed to anyone.

    I asked

Tell me if one person who works at a McDonald's flipping hamburgers and has 2 kids at home and a non-working spouse should they be paid enough to support them all? Should McD's be paying them this "living wage" you keep jammering about?

Have you only made minimum wage all your life?

If they are able bodied why can't they generate it FOR THEMSELVES? Why do others have to do it for them? Why are they dying and starving in the streets?

ROFLMAO you have it backwards. It's the third world countries which proclaim everyone must take care of everyone else and government is here to do it and we see in every instance it fails. What makes American great is that you have to opportunity to act in your OWN self interest and earn as much as your talent and initiative will take you.

Again why do you claim the rich believe it is in their own best self interest for everyone else to be poor and why don't we all just get paid minimum wage? Why are there so many successful people living high standards of living especially compared to the rest of the world here?

Have you only made minimum wage in your lifetime. Has all your wealth been taken from you by evil rich people?

    Where has that ever happened?

Do you know the true story of the Pilgrims and why they almost all died until they made a fundamental change in their settlement government and economy?

They do. For some it's called a wage. For many others it's called a business.

Maybe so that he can open another store and employ more people? Do you think these greedy people just fill their mattresses with money?

BS. I grew up poor, had to work for everything I have, and now I have enough to retire early. Why do you think that I didn't have opportunities? Everyone has opportunities. Many don't know what they are and many don't see them but that doesn't mean that they aren't there. We live in under a king's rule, keeping everyone in their place according to leftloonyville propaganda. Maybe the teachers unions should start pushing the teaching of how to grab opportunities and some money management courses instead of gender identity.

Midwest McD's chains are offering $16/hr starting wage.

$20 in Ca doesn't mean much.

they also cause prices to go up... which protects American jobs only if American jobs are protected from 3rd world wages

that was one good thing about Trump, he got the right to support Tariffs

we can pass laws to protect IT and Customer Service type jobs from going overseas too

of course AI will take those jobs next probably

and when wages were rising on their own, the Republican run FED raised rates to stop it from happening

the game is rigged, you say wages would go up with a shortage of workers, but then when there is a shortage of workers, the FED does this

    https://www.politico.com/news/2022/11/30/feds-powell-inflation-workers-wages-00071403

"Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell on Wednesday said the biggest remaining barrier to taming inflation is the shortage of workers, which is giving Americans greater clout to seek higher pay."

Well, our regular gas is $5.59 a gallon twenty minutes ago.
I would suggest we wait until the end of the fourth quarter and see who closes their doors.

    That doesn't make any sense.

All the "money he is keeping"... where would this money have been if he didn't start Amazon?

Our economy is not like a game of monopoly with a fixed amount of wealth and a fixed amount of currency. That simply isn't how it works.

Prices are set by three factors.

Cost of goods sold, cost of labor and overhead, and profit.

    That's it.

If you manipulate any of those outside the market, you will get repercussions and consequences if you like it or not.

    Share some of the profit?

    For what exactly?

This is largely why most people that start and run successful businesses are not progressive.

Yup, and like most things government does, it would operate at a net loss.
