In my early twenties I had an experience that I like to think was a near death experience.

I won't bore everyone with the details, just suffice it to say.... I truly believe that we are going to a much better place when we are done having the experience here on Earth that we refer to as human life.

But I have never been dead that I am aware of, so how can I say it is really a near-death experience @DennisTate ?

So I'm really not certain what comes next, though I do have my beliefs and faith.

I used to hate life and want to die as soon as possible, but my near-death experience cured me of that primarily because I had the nagging suspicion that the master will not let you leave until the work is finished.... The last thing I would want to do is be reincarnated to finish that which I had ran away from in this life.

So while I cannot wait to die, I am not in a hurry. I do not know for certain what comes next but I do know for certain that I am alive right now.

If the life that comes next is eternity, then I am in no particular hurry to get there because I have forever to enjoy what comes next and I have literally the rest of my life to get there.

Life is beautiful and life is ugly and life is great and life sucks ...... But I will take what I have and what I know over what I don't have and what I only hope to have.... Any day of the week.

All people have "near death experiences". But a few of them are coming back to tell them to the living. The rest just "cross over". :)

    "We are going...."

But Fat, what "goes"? What are you referring to?

I believe that there is no such thing as the absence of anything. The whole energy is neither created or destroyed but only changing forms.

How do you even conceive of something that is nothing? Because even the concept of nothing is something and where would nothing be? Is there just a black void of nothingness somewhere? But even that would be something, somewhere.

But the good news is even if you become nothing at the moment of your death, all of your troubles will be over and there will never be anything to worry about again.

I believe death is just another word for a new beginning. Look at your physical body when it dies. Even it becomes something. Just transformed to a different state of matter.

I don't believe that our existence began at the moment of our conception. I believe that spark that is the thing within us existed somewhere before that moment and that it will exist somewhere after the moment of death

Hey man, YOU said it but you don't seem to be able to defend/explain/clarify it. All you've done is to present your personal beliefs. I'm not interested in your beliefs or anyone else's.

Well like I said I believe I had a near-death experience unlike anything I have ever experienced before but I have never been dead so I couldn't say that for certain now could I?
At the time I was not asleep so it was not a dream and it was certainly more real than any dream ever and I was wide awake and I know I wasn't here so I must have been somewhere. But obviously I wasn't dead because I am still here. I don't believe my physical body ever left that room but something certainly went somewhere to observe and experience something

So therefore that leaves me with my beliefs. If you are uninterested and discussing such things then I will bid you a good day.

Gentle suggestion, but maybe getting to this point is what it is all supposed to be about:

"If the life that comes next is eternity, then I am in no particular hurry to get there because I have forever to enjoy what comes next and I have literally the rest of my life to get there.

Life is beautiful and life is ugly and life is great and life sucks ...... But I will take what I have and what I know over what I don't have and what I only hope to have.... Any day of the week."

I have been studying this topic rather obsessively since 1990 and I personally cannot argue with
the 1943 near death experience account of Dr. George Ritchie who did an amazing job of describing
four higher invisible dimensions of space and time three decades or so before Stephen Hawking Ph. D. explained how higher invisible dimensions of space and time fitted with String Theory.... The Anthropic Principle.... Grand Unified Theory........ and now especially with Multiverse Theory?!
