I guess Musk is right about geo-blocking the video in Australia alone. The parochial law in Australia does not apply to the global audience including me. Australia cannot dictate what we can see on the platform.

I understand how you're thinking. It's just that we preference basing our gun laws on actual science and statistics rather than conjecture and anecdotes.

We also don't like the idea of a society where every second person is carrying a gun.

In that respect you're probably correct. It's just a pity Musk has to act like a dick about it.

I think that it is good for children to see real life blood and guts on TV or live streamed.

It is the non-real depictions of murder, assault, military death, etc. in video and movies that bother me. I think that it desensitizes kids to the real nature of violence, and therefore sanitized depictions of death by gunshot, stabbing, etc should be completely banned.

If depiction of death by gunshot is essential to a fictional work, it should be depicted in a completely realistic manner.

in 2021 the murder rate in Australia was .8 per 100,000. While in the US it was over 5.1 per 100,000

The large difference in numbers might be explained by this:

Video of the shootings can be found here:

A picture of the block party attendees can be found at the below link. Trust me, you won't like it.

Why do social media companies need be held to the same standards as news organisations? They're not, nor are they meant to be, the same thing.

Freedom can be a scary thing. I'm sure the murder rates in prison are even lower than Australia. If y'all just go ahead and remove what freedoms y'all have y'all can be even safer

Well how many Australians have to die until you guys realize that knives are danger and that if it's safe just one life it's worth restricting and regulating knives?

"Freedom" to incite violence against innocent people is scary indeed. Your understanding of freedom is .........sad.

You have the freedom to erase half of someone's post and take it out of context and make up BS.

    Should we censor you too?

You must be young, because way back in the 2000s, a lot of people viewed a man getting his head sawed off on the internet. It didn't change a thing.

This is absolutely to stifle free speech.

The Aussie government obviously wants to squelch public comments about the mass stabbing, because it's highly embarrassing.

What does that have to do with what I posted. You think I wont like it because they are black ?

They are human beings. I care about them equally……

    But the deflection is noted

They think that just because we have rational gun laws that somehow that makes us less “free” and this from people who tell you that HAVE to wear a gun 24/7. Me? I don’t even carry Mace!

That is unfair and extremist. Social media ,like anything else....(including this forum) has to have ground rules for behavior. This knee jerk reaction with censorship claims makes no sense. Every "right" HAS TO HAVE GROUND RULES. Without them, one has nothing but chaos and barbarism.
