Pecker went 2x before Bragg's Grand Jury with partial immunity.
    Then came the Trump indictment.
IMO: He's the most important witness.

Ex-'National Enquirer' Publisher David Pecker Set to Testify First at Trump Trial
    Source: Daily Beast

    Updated Apr. 21, 2024 3:44PM EDT / Published Apr. 21, 2024 3:40PM EDT

Former publishing executive David Pecker is set to testify first for the prosecution at Donald Trump’s Manhattan trial this week.

Pecker, who ran The National Enquirer at the time of the alleged hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 campaign, would be able to help shed light on how the publication offered political cover to the former president with so-called catch-and-kill schemes to bury negative stories about him.

The news of Pecker’s role for the prosecution was first reported by The New York Times. Pecker’s testimony is yet another sign Trump could be in trouble as the trial heads into opening arguments on Monday.

The former publishing executive was previously granted witness immunity back in 2018 when federal prosecutors were looking into the payments.'

You're misreading that. It means IF you falsify business records to commit another crime the the whole thing becomes a felony. You don't have to be convicted of the other crime it can be the reason you're falsifying records. TRaitor tRump falsified business records to conceal the fact that he was birbing a porn star so to affect the outcome of the 2016 election; which is illegal and wraps it all up with a bow as a felony.

Tell me you dont understand what gag order is, and why it is issued, without telling me…

He has a gag order because no matter what he says, you believe him, and there are many that will do what he says. Thats a danger, not only to those whom will do his bidding, but also to the rule of law. But you know that….

Apparently, there’s “no evidence” against Trump, but there’s a “mountain of evidence” against Biden.

This was published on the 18th but remains very relevant.

'How Donald Trump could lose his jury before they are even seated'

'The judge may rein in Trump's more extreme courtroom behavior. But the jury will notice.'

    snip:

'If Trump appears bored, angry or impatient, jurors notice. When he mumbles under his breath, they notice. None of these things are good, either.

Trump has built a reputation as a showman. He is an outsized presence, physically and rhetorically. Performance art, especially cocky or aggressive behavior, serves Trump well at his rallies and in front of the camera. But in my experience, juries don’t usually appreciate it'.

    snip:

"In fairness, a trial for a criminal defendant can alternate between long periods of boredom, punctuated by moments of terror, and the generalized anxiety that gradually accelerates as the case moves inexorably to verdict. It’s unreasonable to expect someone on trial to sit there politely as the prosecution parades witness after witness before a jury to say bad things about him. It’s likely impossible in the case of Trump.'

While the judge may rein in his more extreme behavior, the head shakings, closed eyes and frowns might pass without reprimand from the bench. But the jury will notice. They will judge him for his conduct at the defense table. And if the misbehavior continues, they may hold it against him

I usually allow those who yield to keep their horse (not their side-arms) but you are such a recidivist, no horse or side arms for you. You are walking, unarmed.

Trump was the first presidential candidate that the National Enquirer ever endorsed.

N.E. stories are going to be entered as evidence.
IMO: Trump's defense should be a hell of a lot more concerned about Pecker's testimony than Cohens.
    They already know 99% of Cohens's testimonies/documents/tapes.

Remember,Pecker got a plea deal and also got some form of immunity when he testified before the Grand Jury.

'Prosecutors reveal plea deal with National Enquirer publisher AMI involved in former Trump lawyer hush money payment'
    '
The company that owns The National Enquirer admitted to the payment.'

    December 12, 2018, 3:07 PM

    snip:

"Federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York announced Wednesday they have reached an agreement with American Media Company, Inc. (AMI), the publisher of the National Enquirer, in connection with a payment made during the campaign meant to silence a woman who claimed to have had an affair with Donald Trump in 2006".

    snip:

"The deal grants AMI immunity from prosecution for its role in what is called "catch and kill" -- or purchasing a story in order to sweep it under the rug -- and an “agreement to provide cooperation in the future.”

Prosecutors wrote that AMI has already “provided substantial and important assistance” in the probe and “has made various personnel from AMI available for numerous interviews” with investigators."

Bbbut where’s the “other felony”? What’s the evidence of that? In fact, what is all the evidence and witnesses?! If you don’t know, you must acquit him now!

Congress will be in trouble if entering into NDA is considered as illegal.
They have their on fund before 2022 and had paid more than $17 million in taxpayer money over the last 20 years to resolve claims of sexual harassment..

And what you're not getting is he hasn't been charged with a campaign finance violation, even after investigated by the two agencies that can actually charge it decided there wasn't a crime. Bragg doesn't get to make up convictions, that's the whole point. We'll see though, in NY this judge and this jury, good chance he get's convicted, zero chance it hold up on appeal.

Don't you reckon that if Humpty's**** Lawyers believe the charges themselves are fundamentally flawed that they'd already have been to SCOTUS to have them tossed out?

    Well lets see:

Did he fraudulently alter his companies books to hide an attempt to cover up something he did so that it wouldn't affect his chances in an upcoming election? Why, yes ... yes he did.

IF he gets convicted for that it's going to stick.
