In fact, witness intimidation is a federal crime, a felony crime, if memory serves me correctly.

 

I was right. Witness tampering (of which witness intimidation is a part) is part of USC 18, §1512:

who "intimidated witnesses in a criminal case"? Who threatened anyone..... Trump spoke the truth, he didn't say anything not publicly confirmable.

The only thing left out was the FBI had one of the witnesses pegged as a Russian agent....
