Prosecutors make history with opening statements...

    snip:

'Todd Blanche, Trump's attorney, told the jury the former president had 'nothing to do with' paying Daniels, and it was handled by a bookkeeper.

He also indicated that Trump would continue to deny the porn star's claims that she had a relationship with the former president.

Blanche added: 'There’s nothing wrong with trying to influence an election, it’s called democracy.'

He also accused Daniels of trying to 'extort' Trump. Blanche said: 'She saw her chance to make a lot of money, $130,000, and it worked. Her testimony, whilst salacious, does not matter.'

Blanche told the jury: 'Use your common sense. We’re New Yorkers. It’s why we’re here.'

Wait a minute you can be legally sanctioned for a crime for which you have nit even been charged let alone convicted and by a court and DA with no jurisdiction over such crime.

    SINCE WHEN?

He has not been convicted if falsifying a record. It doesn't matter if it effected the election anymore then his buying a new suit to look good. The payments were made AFTER the election was over. Your standing in quicksand.

The difference between President Biden and tRaitor tRump is President Biden cooperated with NARA's efforts to recover Presidential Documents and tRaitor tRump resisted giving up documents when asked for, multiple times, even going so far as having his attorney lie about them. Until NARA was forced to involve the FBI, and my still not have all the documents asked for back.
NARA only involved the FBI to recover documents after they had been jerked around by tRaitor tRump for over a year.
    >_SCIF <- "Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility"

TRaitor tRump had SCIF documents but refused to give them back, President Biden gave them back without question. In the final day(s) of office mistakes are made. I'm not trying to justify that, but, they are made. The difference is how they are handled and recovered.
IF tRaitor tRump had given the documents back, even assisted in their recovery, as President Biden has, NOTHING would have been said and in all likely hood the world would have never know about it.
The Country is tired of being lied to about how unfairly tRaitor tRump has been dealt with, when at every turn he's been give the benefit of the doubt and all the breaks seem to break his way.

    No they can't.
No, because of tRaitor tRump's past history of inciting violence against government officials, witnesses and jurors, what he can say has been restricted, to specific topics, by gag orders.
"I've" never been arrested or charged with a crime, but IF I were I wouldn't try to gin up a mob against my accusers. AND if I were to do such a thing I would expect to end up in jail and, would be surprised if I didn't.

Exactly what it all boils down too. The only chance to convict is tie misdemeanors to a fantasy felony, which will make them a felony. Pretty crazy times, it would be like a DA charging a lefty for petty theft but says the money was going to be used to buy drugs, the petty theft is now a class a felony. Of course, you didn't buy drugs nor get arrested for buying drugs. Crazy times

I think tRaitor tRump's sycophants have demonstrated, many times and many ways, including attacking The Capitol Building of The United States, that when tRaitor tRump disparages his accusers, they will become violent in order to ham and intimidate them.
Practically from tRaitor tRumps first rallies where a guy got sucker punched by a tRaitor tRump supporter, while he was trying to leave.
I agree his talior should be arrested but, falsifying company books to hide the fact you're paying off a porn star so that they affair you had won't become public isn't the same as buying a suit ... no matter how bad you look in it.
But the deal was done long before the election. The payment delay was so that tRaitor tRump could stiff the porn star (for money that time).
Nope, sitting in my home office with my feet on carpet. But you're knee deep in tRumpian Bullshit. :wtf:

The only chance to convict is to prove the indictments beyond a shadow of a doubt.
I never dreamed I would see a former president cause an attack on the Capitol or be indicted for 91 felony's.
Or a "righty". But! You may be on to something there.
    That's true.
Show's just what a crazy time tRaitor tRump and his lies have created in The USA.

Now please name the campaign finance violation imposed or the doj crime charge of convicted of campaign finance violations. At some point you should come to grips you are going to have to deal with this because it's the whole case. blah blah blah helped the campaign, blah blah blah couldn't be a personal nor business purpose isn't going to fly. This will lead to a misdemeanor conviction which will be appealed and overturned on statute of limitations.
Even if what you say is 100% true, it's not a crime and has been discussed over and over, congress has a slush fund specifically for NDA for congress that have been accused of everything and anything. Are you now saying that everyone who used it has committed an election fraud felony, come on NDA's are what they are. They try to protect one's image, personal, business and their business is campaigns.

    You (my question)
Is the hush money trial about campaign finance violations?

    Copilot
    Using the web
Yes, the hush money trial is indeed related to allegations of campaign finance violations.
Donald Trump is accused of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records, which requires prosecutors to prove that he falsified records to commit or conceal another crime1. The second crime could include various offenses, including federal campaign finance and tax violations1.
This is not a DOJ case.

    Or you are.
    That's why they're having a trial.

No, that's you putting words in my mouth that I've never said or even thought.
And HUSH money is what it is.

Ahhhh, Prima Donnie goes slithering to the corrupt felon "We Build a Wall" Bannon.

'Trump Bashes Jury in Apparent Gag Order Violation'
'Trump just can't stop running his mouth'

    snip:

'Trump said in an interview on Steve Bannon's network Real America's Voice, "That jury was picked so fast. 95% are Democrats. The area is mostly all Democrat. You think of it as a purely Democrat area. It's a very unfair situation that I can tell you."

Judge Merchan has ordered Trump not to make public statements about jurors. The gag order against Trump states that he will be in violation for, "Making or directing others to make public statements about any prospective juror or any juror in this criminal proceeding."

Today’s a big day, the Judge Merchan has set it aside to hear arguments about the gag order placed on tRaitor tRump to keep him from attacking prosecutors, the judge and witnesses in the media.

I think it’s going to quickly devolve from whether a gag order is justified to how much he’ll be fined … this time … for infractions he’s already committed.

Prosecutor Chris Conroy is "ticking through" tRaitor tRump's gag order violations. Better go to the cookie jar tRumpublicans, this is going to get expensive for tRaitor tRump.

"Todd Blanche says Trump is entitled to complain about “two systems of justice.” “There’s two systems of justice in this courtroom? That’s what you’re saying?” Justice Merchan says."

    -Maggie Haberman

I don't think tRaitor tRump's lawyers are helping his case.

Listen to Trump's call into Fox telling them about Raphael Cruz/Oswald and JFK.
He tells them that the National Enquirer even has photos.

    OMG!

    WAPO Updates:

Prosecutor: Trump ‘seems to be angling’ for jail sentence in violating gag order

'Assistant District Attorney Christopher Conroy asked a judge to remind Donald Trump that “incarceration is an option” if he continues to violate the gag order in his trial.
“His disobedience of the order is willful, it’s intentional,” Conroy said. He said Trump’s claims that he is only responding to political attacks make no sense.

Trump has previously declared he would be willing to go to jail over the issue of the gag order.
“He says whatever he needs to say to get the results that he wants,” Conroy said. “He’s doing everything he can to undermine this process. It has to stop.”

Conroy said he is not asking at this time for Trump to be sent to jail for contempt, though he noted that is an option under the law and urged New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan to warn Trump that he could be incarcerated if he keeps violating the order.
We are not yet seeking an incarceratory penalty,” Conroy said. “Defendant seems to be angling for that.”
