While he didn't actually tell people to use Lysol internally, his musings on stage that day about potential treatments was hugely stupid. Especially because he was surrounded by doctors who could have told him in one sentence that you can't disinfect people's internal organs with UV light and Lysol. He was the president who was supposed to be projecting an air of professionalism and safety during that particular time in part because the internet was already full of people hawking fake and dangerous "cures". The amount of dumb stuff Trump has done is a huge list, but this isn't on the first page.

Again Trump never suggested any one drink disinfectant. Trump asked a question regarding the information just presented regarding the use of various things including ultra violet light to kill covid germs on surfaces to find a treatment? There was nothing in that question about eating or drinking anything. Yet the headline in Americas paper of record was Trump says we should drink bleach to treat covid. Note People actually did take Ivermectin and survived covid people took Hydroxychloroquine and survived covid. According to the CDC apparently a lot of people had covid took nothing at all did nothing at all and survived just fine and in fact never knew they had covid.
