Repubs "OK with Trump as dictator"

And I'm gonna omit the dictator for 1 day bit because if Trump is dictator for 1 day-- He's not gonna let go of it once he gets it. You know darn well he's gonna like being a dictator too much to let go of it.

So why do Republicans hate democracy so much?

    https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow...ers-are-board-trumps-dictator-talk-rcna137917

It was just two months ago when Donald Trump sat down with Fox News’ Sean Hannity for a town-hall-style event in which the Republican said he wouldn’t be a dictator if he returned to the White House — “except for Day One.” When the host tried to help his guest, the likely GOP nominee doubled down, but assured the audience that his envisioned dictatorship would be temporary.

Republican officials initially insisted that the former president was kidding. As regular readers know, that defense quickly collapsed: In the weeks that followed, Trump repeated the line about a temporary dictatorship over and over and over again

If he's dictator one day, he'll be dictator another day... and then another... And then he'll start liking it.

You believe he is following the Biden pattern? Obligating funds without congressional approval. i.e. Forgiving student loans, etc.

The only way a President could be a dictator would be if he had the support of the administrative state, the military, the news media, and academia.

Trump has the support of none of those institutions.

Trump didn’t become a dictator during his first term so why would he do it now? Also, a lot of the things libs claim Trump will do in his second term he never did in his first term. On top of that, Trump did not say you must do this and you must not do that. Guess which party does that?

So is he going to be the sort of dictator that determines that he can use tax dollars to forgive student loans even after the supreme Court said he couldn't?

Or maybe does he plan to be the sort of dictator that dictates that he can tell private employers with 100 or more employees that they must have vaccinated employees or test all of them every week?

Exactly what sort of dictator things do you think he'll do?

Of course he would not stop at One day. He is verbalizing how he wants to run things once he gets in again. The question is : does the system have sufficient boundaries and controls to keep him in check..........or will he freely over ride the system as he wishes to achieve what he wants. Absolute power. His conduct has given us a window into his behavior and objectives. He has already tested the systems to near braking point. (and continues to do so during his criminal court) Like a dictator....If he loses , we will go through the same BS that we have gone through since he lost las time. .with him denouncing the system etc. If he wins......expect him to move in with more authoritarian ideas . His pals in Russia , Turkey N. Korea etc will happily support and cooperate with him. Once in power, he will do everything he can to STAY in power. His supporters seem to want this. Manny fail to realize that the man is a sociopathic dictator at heart. (always has been) People, the electorate , friends, etc are totally disposable. There "value" is directly related to how they can benefit Trump. Once their use is over......they are discarded like yesterdays news.

The first one is that he didn't run as a democrat of course. If Trump had won as a Democrat the same people currently trying to throw him in jail would be hailing as a political genius.

    Could? Or would?

Example: right now, Trump has the SCOTUS deciding the issue of presidential immunity, which would apply to crimes committed while in office. That decision will be made in the next several weeks. If the SCOTUS decides in Trump's favor, it would apply immediately, which means that Biden could legally have Trump assassinated. He wouldn't but the fact that Trump's appeal is in the works, it makes me think that as usual, he failed to consider all consequences.

Um, no ... if he had tried to run as a Democrat using his rhetoric of fear and hatred, he never would have made it to Super Tuesday in the primaries.

The same principle applies in Germany, Italy, Iraq and Russia.

A strongman builds a cult of personality around himself, making his voters believe that they are the victims of a national conspiracy to prevent them from asserting their values and vision of the country, and claiming that elections are rigged.

With this lie, he gradually weakens the institutions and demands more power to 'cleanse' the country of those who stand in the way of his political agenda.

After a maximum of 1-2 years, he becomes an authoritarian ruler.

Pretty funny how he had four years and didn't become this horrible dictator you guys imagine he'll be.

Maybe he can just decide that he can give away taxpayer dollars to make certain people's debts go away even though the supreme Court ruled he can't.

Maybe he can try to dictate that every private employer with 100 or more employees have an ultimatum dictated to them about medical choices for their own employees

So tell me, how many times in the last 150 years has the transition of power in this country taken place in chaos?

Trump has done everything he can to retain power.

And it's only because the institutions were stronger than he was that he failed.

His MAGA are so fanatical that they find it commonplace for Trump to want to be a dictator on the first day of his hypothetical election.

Could Bush or Reagan have said such a thing?

    Never.

A majority of MAGA would rather have a dictatorship under Trump than democracy under Biden.

The MAGA movement represents the moral bankruptcy of conservatism.

The trump haters are determined to use every tactic to keep trump out.

Anyone who understands our government and our history knows no one person, no political party, no group can become dictator in America. Our three armed structure of government won't tolerate it.
    Ever.

The Germans felt the same way in 1933....

The MAGA rioted to prevent certification of the vote and millions of them openly wish for civil war if Trump isn't elected in 2024.

And Trump has been setting the stqage for that process for a while now. He has alrady created a fanatical following.......that would vote for him regardless of what he does or says. They enable his ideology by virtue of their avid support . As anyone can see, he is doing anything and evrything to cultivate the atmosphere of discontent with his LIES , disinformation and pure BS.......and his groupies have accepted his words as "fact"
He is already on his way.
If peple have to ask how dictatorships get control of a nation...then they are not informed of history and the process of what people like Trump will go through to achieve their aims. Once the group buy's into the lies etc....they cannot see any other views or reality for that matter. And any opposition to their views just solidified their beliefs.
The underpinning basis for this is of course a serious addiction to POWER..... as that is all that matters. The aim is for absolute power with absolute immunity. It is not certain that the current structures are stable and strong enough to control HIM.
