Your average rioting thug can't even spell 'left-winger' let alone understand what it refers to. These events have nothing to do with politics and everything to do with orchestrated theft, arson and mindless vandalism.

Well I think congratulations are in order here.
This is just about the most callous, self-centered load of unadulterated horse (*)(*)(*)(*) I've read in a while.
    Everyone applaud...

    OK OK...let's be adults now.

Granted, there is certainly some question as to the motivation of these rioters. Some call them "a hand full of thugs out to steal what they can." while others are saying they are fed up with lack of employment and the dumping of social programs through austerity measures taken by the Tories.
    I suggest...IT'S BOTH!

Ah, so people ARE linking this "hand full of thugs" to underlying malcontent at the lack of opportunities available to them. I guess the austerity measures have played a roll in creating this mess. But after all...its just a "hand full of thugs" right?
    http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/08/10/uk-britain-unrest-youth-idUSLNE77901H20110810
Hey wait a minute. A "hand full of thugs" certainly couldn't create "the worst seen in Western Europe in decades". Me thinks this just might be MORE that a simple hand full...

So it seems that indeed there is a bunch of simple thugs who are taking advantage of the chaos in order to line their pockets...and I bet when the "good" people see this, they probably say to themselves, "Hey...My Dad just got laid-off, I can't afford University and can't find a job...someone gimme a rock. Its time to make some money for me and mine."

But its OBVIOUS to anyone with a SOUL, that the underlying, psychological cause of this is a bad economy made even worse by the Tories and their austerity measures.

So it is also OBVIOUS that a CONSERVATIVE and heavy-handed approach to squelching this mess might be in order. Just as it is OBVIOUS that had the CONSERVATIVES only LISTENED to their LIBERAL counterparts and NOT cut programs in the middle of a recession, but INCREASED them, this probably wouldn't have happened.

Are you thick-headed and leather-skinned REPUBLICANS and DEMOCRATS getting anything out of this at all? Or are y'all just gonna continue with your partisan bickering and do nothing till NYC is in flames?

Its your choice...please make the right one...8)

Its not even that simple, its also part of consumption society they want what others have and they want it now. Its also part cultural you needs certain items to have a standing in society,...

Problem is this takes decades to rectify such mistakes.

Decades in wich some will spend every time something happens attacking these measures

Anarchy in the U.K. It's more than a Sex Pistols record. It's what happens when
your socialistic system breeds a whole dependent underclass that doesn't like it when they have to do with less.
You know what happens when unruly children don't get their way. They get angry and they throw a fit. It's a cautionary tale in a time when Obama is trying his hardest to lead us down that road. We should not go.

Isn't living in total denial great?
Isn't partisan bickering and the paralysis it imposes on government great?
Don't you just get a wet-spot in yer pants just thinking of all those millions of people who are soon to be out of work?

When you die...how will you explain your complete lack of caring to your GAWD?

 You have morons burning down their own neighborhoods and assaulting innocent people they come across (literally stripping and robbing them on the streets) and this is how you characterize things?

You obviously have a screw loose and you occupy the fringes of civilized life.

Here's another one who sees rioting, looting, and arson and pushes it all aside with typical liberal rationalizations. Here is truth: Whatever you tolerate, you get MORE of!

Thus, unless you choose to live in a barbaric, uncivilized chaos, there's only one intelligent, common-sense choice: enforce the laws against rioting, looting, and arson with whatever force is required to STOP IT....

And if you really do believe that assuaging the situation with more Welfare State sop is going to change the behavior, all you have to do is look at us in the United States.

We started "buying off" our own raging, destructive population with welfare back in the late 1960's and look at where it got us. We now have an enormously expensive Welfare State, providing cradle-to-grave welfare of every imaginable kind in exchage for tentative "peace and quiet". Our Democrat Party now has built into its foundation an iron-clad commitment to the Welfare State, and it leverages it to obtain and keep power... for in this country, even a worthless slug who does nothing but suck on a welfare teat is allowed to VOTE! And three generations of the rat-herd have learned that as long as they've "got the 'Man' on the run", in a state of unending apology for the wrongs of the distant past, they'll be given a subsistence existence in return for the equivalent of "remaining in their barracks"....

Short of a complete governmental reorganization, there's no hope we will ever escape from this situation in the United States, but there may still be hope for Britain, and many countries in Europe. But first you must enforce the laws against flagrant, deliberate rioting, looting, and arson, without hesitation or compromise. If you don't, you'll turn into the same kind of confused pile of crap that we in the United States have turned into....

So your point is liberals will riot if their freebies are taken away and they're (gasp) forced to work for a living? Agreed.

You tea bagees fail to realize we have no desire to be like Greece. Greece is what happens when you put in too many government programs that incent people not to work. Programs the left wing embraces. We have no desire to put programs that incent staying home. We prefer safety nets that incent work with a nice motivational tool built in. The same left wingers whining about austerity now where crowing on about babies living in the streets after conservative welfare reform. Of course it was an overwhelming success and the lefty tea bag recipients left in the lurch.

The situation can be resolved in 24 hours. Give the police loaded firearms and order them to shoot all rioters, looters, and arsonists on sight! End of problem.

There is no logical reason why it should be any more complicated than that....

Typical nationalist socialist meme. If the government reigns in spending in order to avoid default then it's not the fault of the more infantile members of dependent class when they resort to more violent forms of wealth redistribution and destruction. Coddle their adolescent entitlement mentalities and exploit those grievances in order to further centralize power is the theme of the totalitarian progressive. Landru's vision for America is even starker than that of Orwell's Oceania.

Austerity = Greece. So you want the US to follow the model of a tiny economy run into the ground by a decade of conservative rule.

    Tell us more.
