Iraq Vet Blasts NYPD For Abusing OWS Protesters

I saw a video of the cops beating up some of the OWS protesters. Oops.
Then I saw this posted on another board:

So much for OWS being a bunch of spoiled sissies etc... He doesn't look like a sissy to me.
I can't say I'm behind OWS as a whole because frankly, they still look like a bunch of whackjobs and I only KNOW one part of their message (that ONE part, I'm totally behind) but there's so much misinformation out there, I still don't know what they're all about. Outlawing greed? $20 minimum wage? Nah, I don't want to pay $14 for a Big Mac, thanks. But from what I understand, those are from a "list of demands" floating around that wasn't actually put out by them. So who knows what they want? Not me.
But I like this sergeant!

 

Cops do whatever they want and get away with it, well, at least in NY. So it's no surprise that they'd abuse authority by whooping some innocent protesters asses and get away with it. I mean, if you can kill someone and only need to worry about a paid suspension or desk job, what the hell is assault in comparison?

 

Im an Iraq vet and I think those useless commies should be clubbed at the police departments earliest convenience...

You would be the first US military person I ever knew that incites violence on their own citizens, a felony crime BTW, and if discovered, could be removed from the military based on those charges. If all is true of course.

I believe someone has forgotten the above I "bolded" the most relevant part. Now do I need to point to the relevant sections of the US Constitution that covers "OWS" right to protest their government, or can these be located without my help?

It would seem some of my fellow veterans have forgotten what it means to wear the uniform, what it stands for and more importantly what we fight and die for. This man is a hero and had I been present I would have been proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with my brother.

Freedom of speech is not only guaranteed when it is something you agree with, it's a right given to all regardless of their beliefs so long as they are not inciting to riot or being violent. These people are fully within in their rights to peacefully protest the government; in fact is our responsibility and duty to protest our government when the will of the people is being ignored.

Veterans, I know we are getting a raw deal now that we are home. But lets not forget what we fought, bled and died for, America.
