SUSPENDED WORKERS DONT GO TO WORK.

perhaps you should have posted the defintiion of suspended if you think hes still filling that position while on suspension.

SUSPENDED WORKERS HAVE NOT LOST THEIR JOBS AS YOU CLAIMED.

I can't believe you are so willing to embarrass yourself even further.

    sus·pend (s-spnd)
    v. sus·pend·ed, sus·pend·ing, sus·pends
    v.tr.
    1. To bar for a period from a privilege, office, or position, usually as a punishment

FOR A PERIOD. Get it now Mello? Fired means they are DISMISSED from their job. Not for a period.

Now, are you going to admit your mistake or continue this embarrassment?

He's barred but still filling that job? Confusing!

    No he's suspended.

    Suspended is not fired.

You moronically claimed they lost their job. That was either a lie on your part or just pure ignorance of the situation. I honestly don't know which applies to you.

    This isn't rocket science.

It's a factory and factories have quotas, do they not? At least everyone I have been associated with does, and nothing would get you fired faster than not keeping up to the quota standards. Even the union can’t help you there. Bottom line is these guys are doing the job they were hired for or they wouldn't be there. The other major misconception on your part is that they "must" not be doing their job since they are stoned. Where is that proof??

You don't know how unions work, do you?

A number of them REQUIRE drug tests!

Due process? we aren't talking about being brought up on criminal charges here, workers, were caught smoking weed. they should have been fired right there on the spot.

Well apparently this union doesn't, either that or the testing was faked.

A factory without a drug test? Faked by the company?? Please???

The tests are easily beaten. There a literally hundreds of places on the net to get a guaranteed test evader kit. Not to mention the fact that drug tests are a joke anyway. I have a cousin tha smokes everyday and usually smokes before he tests just so he can laugh his butt off at the idiocy of the tests.

I would hope you don't think the only people that use pot are just union members. I doubt very much if there is less than 80% this board that hasn't used it. Many during working hours.

I never could understand why people think they have to get high to make it through the day. I have never used drugs, never felt I had to. I do know when the conversation comes to drugs and making it legal, this board lights up like a Christmas tree, mostly in favor. It would seem to me, it's just another assault on union people. The Right makes an ass of themselves, attacking unions. They are like anyone else. There is good and bad. I myself have done my share of attacking them when I thought they were wrong. But to attack them all, just because they are union, is wrong. They have done more to make the Middle Class in this country than anything else. It's time Republicans realized it.

I would say more so, because union members know how hard it is for companies to fire them.

You are obviously speaking from ignorance. The only companies who find it difficult to discipline or fire union members are the ones who fail to follow the law, and/or their own HR policies.

    Really?

Union workers can't just be fired on the spot. They have hearings, mediation, appeals etc.

Its not easy to just call a union worker into your office and say, "you're fired".

That's bull. A person smoking weed does it because he is hooked on it. They aren't thinking of how hard it is to get fired. I would be willing to bet you could go to any factory where employees hang out during their lunch break and catch people using drugs all the time. Union or not.

I've built twenty thousand dollar guitars after smoking. Didn't devalue them one cent. Always look first at the craft, not the person behind it.

You were doing so good up to that point. Pot is habitual, not addicting. Coffee is more addicting than pot, and people do it because they like the way it effects them. There are people who do it all day, and people who do it after work, and people who only do it on the weekend, just like alcohol, only without the liver damage and withdrawals/hangovers.

That is as it should be for any worker. It depends very much on what they did, but everyone is entitled to due process.

    You ****.

What I love about you libs is how you claim to know it all about business and the inner workings of life and how companies run and how unions are so great, yet you don't know a (*)(*)(*)(*) thing about how they operate and have no experience with them.

I will just let your ineptness take precedent here and let you keep looking foolish.
