Poor old Ron, after three decades in politics with zero accomplishment, I'm sure he realizes this is his last grasp for the elusive big brass ring.

I almost feel sorry for him... almost.

Perhaps if you treated politics less like this:

    And more like this:

You would have a different outlook on the matter.

National polls are the most useless stats in primaries. Candidates aren't selected by national vote.
Only the truly desperate refer to them as if they hold any value. You know who was in 3rd nationally this day 4 years ago? McCain.

And BTW you're mistaken. Paul is currently 2nd in NH, 3rd in SC, and 3rd in FL. These early states will be awarding proportional delegates in case you are unaware, so Paul will be collecting delegates from all of them.
Seeing as how he's the only candidate with a grassroots presence on the ground nationally and a solid revenue stream, you might want to get used to having him around.

Paul will not be the Republican candidate. He has likely peaked now. By this time next month he'll will be AGAIN, fading into well deserved obscurity.

By this time next month, Paul will be a lock for the nomination, Obama supporters will be flocking to him in droves, and Nancy Pelosi will suddenly wake up, realize she's insane, and retire from politics.
See? I can make groundless predictions based on absolutely nothing just as easily as you. :fart:

All Ron Paul would do as a Third party candidate is guarantee an Obama win.

No because the college of electors, will only cast their votes for someone from the DNC or RNC.

This is why, while we the people are at it replacing liberal congressmen and women.

We need to reform the electoral college process, and replace these lifelong electors in our electoral college too.

Remember folks, in several states, the individual elector/electors representing your state in the electoral college, do NOT have to cast your states votes for the person who you/the citizens of that state have actually voted for.

They CAN cast the states vote, for the person they themselves like, and support.

This is how you wind up with a person winning the popular vote, and yet still losing the election. ;)

There is too much at stake in this election, for our Nation's continuation as a Constitutional Republic and not a police state.

Mr. Paul gets that I think. So no, I don't think he will run as a third party candidate, if he doesn't get the nomination.

Because of the climate in the nation right now, and because I think Mr. Paul gets it, that if he did run as a third party candidate, and cause Obammy to be re-elected he would be the one blamed and thus end his political career.

I look for him to throw his support behind the nominee, whomever that is, if it isn't Mr. Paul himself that is.

Gotta remember, Mr. Paul despite the MSM telling us all he can't be elected, can and will be elected if WE THE PEOPLE vote for him, which frankly I hope we do, if for not for any other reason than to tell the MSM it is WE who decide who can and will be elected, not them and their talking heads on the t.v. ;)

I think Mr. Paul knows it's of paramount importance if this nation is to survive both economically, as well as a free Constitutional Republic, that the leftists must be defeated, and voted out of office, by those who will repeal such onerous attacks upon the states, and the citizen's rights.

    As for example,Obammycare, does.

Paul's political career IS over. At the end of the next presidential term, Paul will be 81. Paul looks fairly frail now. Who his running mate would be would be more important than Paul. Paul will be 77 at election time. We have NEVER elected a president in his 70's. Reagan was the oldest, elected at age 69 and reelected at 73.

    He is too old.
    He doesn't 'look' healthy.
He has an record of no accomplishments.
    He is a radical.

    He IS NOT "it."

Agreed, but that doesn't mean he won't do it. It also doesn't mean that his supporters won't follow him.
If the Republican party is smart, they will quit trying to force him out and losing this election in the process.

Ron Paul is ending his political career. He's not running for reelection. I don't put anything past him.

In a word, no. If he were to run for President on a third party ticket, it would only make it easier for Obama.
