I would not prefer Ron Paul and he'll need 47 million followers at least to get elected and he will need to carry enough electoral votes to get in office. Good luck with that.

You don't explain why he can't, but whatever wannabe despot you say can can. Because you agree with some other guy? Because you don't have unconventional thoughts and therefore such thoughts freak you out and you think they freak out others? I already showed you that inarguably mainstream people out there are not half as closed-minded to him as you are. Maybe it's you who are an outside-the-mainstream extremist and just haven't realized it yet because your head's in the sand. Check this out:

CNN Iowa Caucus Entrance Poll--Vote by Age

    --------------Paul..........Santorum.......Romney
    17-24.........50%..........21%..............13%
    25-29.........45%..........27%..............12%
    30-39.........34%..........30%..............17%
    40-49.........17%..........25%..............23%
    50-64.........15%..........27%..............26%
    65+...........11%..........20%..............33%

So you see? Even if Ron Paul doesn't win in 2012, he's winning the inexorable demographic war. Your ideas are old and feeble and backward and discredited. There's no turning back the clock.

You know what's funny about this voting?

The old people vote for Santorum and Romney when Paul is the only candidate that won't be taking out of social security or medicare. Once they start more wars and need to make cuts, they're going straight for the old people programs. :(

No one is afraid of his policies.

There is not a vast conspiracy of scared people railing against him. You may believe this to make yourself feel better, however it is not reality. People are interested in electing a Libertarian.

His policies are extreme, and will hurt the American people. That is why people dislike him.

I have found that far more alternate poltical beliefs exist in greater proportions on the internet than in the "real world". That is my point. There are a slew of Paul supporters here, however I know of only a few in the real world.

    lol

That whole thing made me laugh. Just because I dismiss libertarians, those are on the verge of embracing anarcho-capitalism, does not mean I plan on voting for Hitler.

At this stage the only person scared of facing Ron Paul would be his
Shrink { Psychiatrist }.On account the large bill forthcoming.

 You don't think people on the Internet are real people? Only those is whatever homogeneous bubble you live in are real? It's like that quote by the New York lady after Nixon won, "How did he win? I didn't know anyone who voted for him?" I guess you missed the part where 21% of Iowa GOP voters and 50% of Iowa GOP voters 18-24 prefer Ron Paul to any decrepit ideology you and his opponents. I guess young Iowan Republicans and independents aren't real either!

You know, who do you people think you are, presuming to define who is and is not "extreme," as though such a term has any meaning beyond your own subjective emotions towards something? Pontificating from your pulpit about who gets to be on your tiny, little index card of self-proclaimed respectable positions and trying to manufacture reality.

Have you ever held an unconventional idea in your life? Ever had even a fleeting thought not supported by most or even some or even any of the people in whatever insular little clique you're in, which you assume is representative of everybody else? You haven't even bothered to grace us with an actual logical argument of why you disagree with him, assuming you can even structure one in your mind. Apparently, the fact that he's unpopular in your circle and your circle speaks for us all, that's enough.

Well, if you're voting for Obama, you're voting for a candidate who supports killing hundreds of thousands of innocents in politically motivated wars and caging hundreds of thousands for owning bits of plant matter, who summarily assassinates citizens he declares are terrorists along with their teenage sons, who signs bills to granting himself the power to call you a terrorist and have you locked up forever with no trial, access to an attorney, or any other right to bring the matter before a neutral arbitrator...But what does that matter? All that matters is that your clique, which may or may not be extremist outside your bubble world for all you know, thinks he's popular.

    Baseless fantasy.

People don't like him because they are told not to by the media.

Paul will never get the Congress to go along with any of his Zany plans. The only thing he can do on his own is to bring troops home.

    What zany plans?

And repeal every single executive order he wants, and veto anything he wants.

If Congress likes the Executive Order they will just pass it as law. Not much Paul can do about it. They won't work with him and it will be 4 years of absolutely nothing being done. Congress will go on strike and prevent Paul from doing anything he talks about.

Hell they might even impeach him if he tries anything too crazy. The President is not a king. He needs Congress.

I used to be a Libertarian, I used to be a supporter or Paul. I am no longer either.

    It is hardly baseless.

That alone should be enough to cut off your own hand if it would put Paul in the White House over Obama, if you care about saving children's lives to half the degree a person with an iota of humanity in him would. I find the fact you so cavalierly dismiss saving children's lives sick and repulsive. More important that he's not "zany."

"But the I discovered that was uncool at the popular kids' table, so I switched to the child-bombing despot." Too bad in the process you joined the smallest club on Earth: ex-Ron Paul supporters :-D

It amazes me how many people on this political debating forum don't actually want to debate politics. No one gives a **** which posts amuse you. Now shoo back to the popular kids' table.

Market socialism is far removed from the mainstream.

What is there to debate? The misrepresentation of my argument?

People don't like him because he's your crazy racist uncle who got elected to the House. I wish people of your ilk would stop proclaiming that anybody who doesn't like him was brainwashed into it. Maybe he just sucks. It's all exceedingly condescending.

Total gridlock in Washington will harm more children than anything. Ron Paul will not compromise, according to his voting record, therefore nothing will be spent to help children or anyone. Washington will basically shut down for 4 years. If you think that is something to strive for than you are not a rational person.

The harm is that none of his policies will pass Congress. He has only passed one piece of legislation in 30 years so what makes you think he will get anything done as President?

Sorry, unlike you, I woke up a long time ago from the vision of the aggression, coercive, violent, bloodthirsty, oligarchical, oppressive, Leviathan state as a loving deity who cares for us as a mother hen cares for her eggs. Very well. Continue to butcher children overseas in favor of your insane, paranoid delusion that, if Congress stops passing 1000-page bills it doesn't read for a month, children in this country will starve to death. As far as I'm concerned if you believe that, you should go to a rubber room instead of a voting booth, before you hurt somebody.

"He just sucks" is not a good reason to not like somebody. But it is good enough for someone who has been programmed on how to think. Your comment about him being racist further proves this.

He could get a lot done while preventing alot from getting done. He can repeal any executive order he wants and veto anything he wants. Stopping Congress from taking any action is a very good thing. All they're going to do is bankrupt this country and pass a bunch of laws that theyve never read that continue this country down the path to the New World Order

Because if Congress stops passing mountains and mountains of legislation no one's read for ONE MINUTE, there will be anarchy in streets. A continuous stream of unread, unreadable, ever-changing statutes is dependent on getting poor children their bread...somehow...
