The reason there are fewer particles escaping is that you are trapping them in your own mask.

The mask is a chamber of moist air. The mask doesn't care if the virus enters from your exhale, or from you inhaling the outside air. Either way, the mask will collect the virus in the moist chamber of your mask, potentially infecting both you and those around you as you breathe in, and as you breathe out

The mask is not a preventer of the virus, it's a collector of the virus, and thus a spreader of the virus as well.

The mask is about as useful as sunglasses are for welding.

No, dude, since I don't have covid, those particles would be entering from the outside, as I inhale; and the reason fewer of them would be escaping is because I would be trapping many of them in my mask, if I were foolish enough to wear one.

In SK, they were wearing masks when they ended up with the worst outbreak of any nation. In fact, they were wearing so many masks that they started running out of them. Masks did them no good.

It was only when they changed their strategy from masks to contact tracing that they were able to separate the sick from the healthy, and thereby reduce the outbreak. Here in the US, we treat everyone as though they're sick even if they're healthy. We order them to wear a worthless mask, force them to close their business, and then do nothing to screen those who actually are sick.

Well, you've now proven that you don't. Even with an N95, supposedly one of the better masks, 50% of covid will pass through the mask (into your lungs), and the other 50% will get trapped in the moisture of your mask, of which you will have the pleasure of breathing in for the rest of the day. How is it that you can't conceptualize these things?

wrong, almost all east asian wear mask. also you can't just rely ONLY mask, its combination of Mask/contact tracing EARLY on/lockdown/social distance ALL that crush the curve. early on we were slow on testing/very little contact tracing, plus a POTUS doesn't want wear mask and downplay it in Jan/Feb. +bunch ppl dont want to wear it. Name some infectious health expert that says mask dont help, dare you.

No, it would have floated away in the breeze, killed by sunshine in two minutes, and never to be seen again. It takes a heavy load of covid to get infected in the first place, and the best way of accumulating that heavy load is to walk around with a mask on all day, and worse yet, to wear that same mask the next day.

Why the huge resurgence of the virus? Because people in the U.S. refuse to do what would control it. Wear a mask, use hand sanitizer and alcohol when shopping, etc. And keep distance between themselves and others. I can't believe the number of people that fail to do this unless it is mandated and if there is a fine. I call people out for not wearing my Counties mask mandate and get push back from them. "I don't have to", "why should I" and so on. They are uneducated people that apparently need someone to Parent them.
