5M Americans have missed second vaccine dose: report
It makes no sense to cite being afraid of the vaccine side effects after getting the first one.

I wonder if they have to start over if there is too much time between the first and second dose.

It seems like there is just one thing after another trying to get this done.

    What do you think?

I know someone personally who refuses second dose after the side effects from the first one.

Would you mind sharing which vax your friend took and the side-effects? It's normal for the body to send all resources to fight what it thinks is an invader. It usually doesn't go beyond a few days though.

My friend said the first one was nothing but the second one, did the ninja on him.

And as usual in America, people simply ignore the daily entire hospital wards filled with people who are as sick as dogs, with both short and long term or permanent illness from COVID because people felt lousy for a few days.

Excepting, of course, the COVID cases for 570,000 people died in the days and weeks after the COVID disease.

Of course, those sick people who died alone except for the overwhelmed nurses and doctors who spent their last time.

Sure. Skip vaccination because it might be "uncomfortable". A bit of vitamins and MSM and go ahead and run marathons!

I don't think that's the issue. Vaccines should not make us sick. A sore arm at the injection site is all that should happen. There shouldn't even be an immune response at a level we can detect. And certainly, having a flu like illness for days afterwards is completely unacceptable. Unfortunately there are plenty of cases of people being so sick that they've needed to take days of work and stay in bed. Vaccines should not do that - ever.

Too many people have had significant reactions after a second dose, so it's not surprising that people are skipping it.

in some areas you had to wait in line for both, where I am at, the hospital contacted us, set it all up for us, made it easy

went in, it was a couple min from enter to sitting for 15 min, then done

Sure, but it's not normal to be able to 'feel' that response, other than in the injection site.

The reality is that even otherwise very healthy people have been floored by second doses. Some have ended up presenting at A&E because they were so sick they thought they were dying of COVID (or some other sudden mystery illness). I know of several people who were quite sick after the second dose .. as in home in bed for a week. That's just plain unacceptable.

At this point it's either risk of blot clots, or a fair chance of a strong reaction to the second dose. No surprise at all that people are leary.
The two-dose process is a separate negative, especially when herd immunity is sought. A significant proportion will simply never get that second dose, human nature being what it is.

It does make sense to cite being afraid of the side effects after the first shot when mass hysteria rules. IMO it makes no sense at all to take a dangerous experimental shot to protect against a virus with a 99% survival rate, but I understand that people have been terrorized and indoctrinated, so I don't expect the rational process to be driving the public response. Fear and superstition are driving the public response, nothing more.

Maybe the fact that so many are rejecting the second shot reflects some measure of buyer remorse?

Some people that contracted COVID were asymptomatic. I was one of them. Others died of COVID. My cousin and his mom were two of them.

People respond to viruses and vaccines differently. There simply is no way for anyone to know who will get the "feeling like I'm dying" reaction and who won't. How could they even determine that?

And, I retract my statement that it makes no sense to be leery after the first shot. It does make sense if the goal is to avoid more unpleasant side effects. I was looking at it as you're halfway there, why not just go all the way?

I am curious as to how you know you had the infection and were asymtomatic.

I presume you reached that conclusion because you had no symptoms but had a positive PCR test.

I see several specialists for health problems and each requires a negative COVID test before outpatient surgery. I had to get tested no more than 48 hours before each appointment. I went through that process 4-5 times (can't recall) and one time it came back positive. I'm not sure what kind of test was used. It was a nasal swab.

I have become skeptical about these tests because there is no possible way that I could have contracted COVID. I don't have any family to speak of. I no longer drive so I went nowhere. I've had NO contact with neighbors or anyone else except a friend comes to check on me (we assumed she gave it to me but she was negative). My friend does all my grocery shopping and other errands. All of my doctors' appointments have been over the phone or via computer. There is literally no way for me to have contracted it. None. It makes no sense.

Thanks, I remember your mentioning this before.

It's highly likely you had a false positive. I know another guy like that here.

The highly unreliable tests are the very foundation of the entire scam.

That's the only explanation that makes sense in my situation.

The part that bothers me is someone can have their medical tests/procedures canceled because of false positive. How many of those people will die because of the delay in treatment? My procedure can wait but there are some that can't. It's heart-breaking.

A friend of mine was in a similar situation. He needed to have a blood procedure done, a daily process for about 2 weeks or so, and it could be done only in the hospital, and there he was subject to the PCR tests. Sure enough, on one of them it came back positive. He raised hell with the hospital and finally made his point about keeping his record clean. He did not have the virus and wanted that on his record. Amazingly he prevailed.

Certainly possible but I am guessing that it could also for a myriad of reasons. I know people who have had other logistical issues like they got their first shot at place A but then couldn't get their second one so they had to scurry about to find the second one. Our mass vax site locally has been a clusterf from day 1 and that upset/frustrated a lot of people. They went from having way too many people showing up to having not enough people showing up. Some people got their second shot appointments the day of the first shot but people like me got it just a couple days before the last day. Come the day of, I went through but some of the people I know who had scheduled much earlier got bumped because they had "too many people scheduled for that day" but it wasn't busy at all when I went through. I was jabbed in 6 minutes of my appointment time. Places like CVS were turning away people who qualified for other reasons than age because they weren't senior citizens, etc etc etc. I really think the priority system was a bit messed up and they should have just opened it to everybody from the beginning.

I don't quite follow. They did a test every day for two weeks? How did he know the positive was false?

My wife and I have both had bad reactions from the Pfizer vaccine. I am debating not getting the second shot as my wife's reaction to the 2nd shot was worse than it was to the first. My wife has had flu like symptoms and vertigo for over a month. Three different doctors have told her she has C19 and sent her home to quarantine, yet she tests negative every time.

For me, my skin breaks out in a rash similar to a reaction to poison ivy. Steroids work to clear it up, but a few days after the drug regiment and it comes back. The ignorant Dr's think it is not related to C19 vaccine, but there are reports all over the world that say other wise. I hate doctors who just assume we are all full of #$%&, I can read a book or study just like they can.

And to put it into perspective, I don't buy into conspiracies and believed initially we should all get vaccinated. Now I really am starting to wonder if their isn't some things that the public isn't being told about these vaccines - kind of like when Fauci said we shouldn't worry about wearing masks...

I am sorry you and your wife are going through that. It sounds awful. It's so frustrating how some doctors treat their patients especially when we're not well and are seeking answers. It might make me prejudiced but I seek out older doctors when I can find them. They don't seem to have the "God Complex" the way younger ones sometimes do.

What do you think will be your next steps? Don't give up on finding a doctor to take your symptoms seriously. There has to be some out there that will realize you're not lying or malingering.

I wish I could take this away for you both.

    Thank you very much.

I really don't know what is next, I kind of want my second shot because I still believe I should get it - herd immunity and all. But at the same time, I would have liked to have been able to talk to a doctor who would have taken me seriously and help me make an educated decision. I go Thursday to get my 2nd shot, and I do not know if I will make it that long without getting another steroid injection to stop this rash. Everything I have read claims it is just my body learning to fight the virus. I will probably just get the shot and hope for the best.

I can say this though, my children will not be getting a vaccine, and if they decide later a third shot is needed we are opting out.

    You're welcome.

I don't envy your position at all. I can only imagine the amount of anguish you must be feeling. My biggest struggle in all this is I have two children. I would probably just get the vaccine to help with herd immunity but it's driving me bonkers on deciding what to do about my kids. I still haven't decided for me but it's a hard pass for my kids.

P.S. I would be interested in hearing an update if you decide to post one.

    1) Of course, responses will vary with every vaccine - but it's the RANGE of responses which is the problem. Even in a worst case scenario, that range should not include days of illness.

    2) The problem is that the side effects are usually worse after that second dose.

Meantime, sorry for the loss of your family members. Hard times.
