Good for you! I'm glad that you had it. I'm dismayed that only 28 people showed up that day. That's a disgrace. More Americans need these shots, if we really want to achieve herd immunity and get life back to normal and the economy roaring back.

Recent studies have shown that the natural infection with the SARS-CoV-2 is delivering much weaker immunity than the mRNA vaccines, so just relying on the virus spreading around, is not guaranteed to deliver herd immunity (as demonstrated by regions of the world in which a large proportion of the population had already contracted Covid-19 from the ancestral strains, but the problem started all over again with reinfection by new variants - the best known example being the city of Manaus, Brazil, where 76% of the population already had the virus, the new infections trickled down to very low numbers, scientists and public health officials were all congratulating themselves that the city had reached herd immunity... and then, boom, the P.1 variant hit, reinfected everybody, and decimated the city - it has happened elsewhere, too).

So, for populational immunity, the vaccines are a better response to this virus than the natural infection and the odds of achieving herd immunity are higher with the vaccines. Fingers crossed that more people drop their silly objections (mostly, out of conspiracy theories because there is NO valid reason to reject these vaccines) and accept the shots so that America can take off again.

I live in Illinois and to say our vaccine roll-out is giant mess is an understatement. I live in a small town 2 hours outside Chicago so my options for vaccination spots are minimal.

I don't know if Eleuthera is an anti-vaxxer or not. I've never had a problem with him. People are going to disagree on just about everything that's why forums like this exist. I generally try to live and let live. I try to be kind to everyone as we never know what pain and sorrow another person is going through.

I was reading the stuff about J&J and blood clots which gave me pause but it looks like J&J isn't one of the options in my area anyway. I'm due for my annual physical soon and will talk to my doctor about it then.

Thanks for sharing your insight on this.

What percentage of the country understands that taking an experimental and dangerous drug injection to protect against a virus with a 99% survival rate does not make sense?

We got anti-maskers, we got anti-quarantiners, we got anti-shutdowners, we got anti-vaxxers, and I guess we got anti-testers now too. How many more variations of COVID belligerence are there I wonder?

I was actually wondering just now if there are any people who still believe COVID was fabricated just as so many did at the very start of the pandemic. Remember that? Back when the 2nd impeachment was going on and Pres Trumps comments spurred on a wave of far-right social media COVID denial? I know that big tech cracked down on that nonsense but I'm wondering if it died off or if it just relocated. Anyone know if 'COVID is a myth' is still a popular far-right sentiment?

Dangerous and experimental? By what reasoning? A few side effects? That would make every drug dangerous and experimental. But what percentage of the country doesn't take a vaccine? Well, generally speaking, the stupid portion of them - stupid for a number of reasons. Stupid for failing to understand the logistical requirements of vaccines. Stupid for failing to understand that a community is as strong as its most vulnerable citizens. Stupid for failing to understand that as long as COVID is in play their party wont regain power.

    .

Why should people want to get vaccinated when they are still told to wear masks and obey other draconian covid rules.

Unless of course your country is only offering the most dangerous vaccine - like mine is. They won't even give it to people under 50, because it's too risky. They don't mind if it kills you at age 70, but they don't want 40 year olds dying from it (and some already have). To make matters worse, it now seems that not all the deaths are making the news. That's seriously worrying.

In the situation we're in here, it's arguably stupider to take that vaccine. Since we have so little COVID, many people will probably wait until a safer vaccine is available. It's one thing to be concerned about a few days of feeling unwell, but when there is a risk of death it changes the picture dramatically.

Again no liberals left in the democrat party or over at the ACLU. To hell with civil liberties and the bill of rights as long as it fits some moronic agenda.

Well that's just tragic. What country is this if you don't mind me asking? And do you know the reason for the limitation?

Bad choices made at the top? I'll be waiting for Pfizer, myself. There's no way I'm taking the Clotter.
