    From Norway to Nunavut:
Arctic fox stuns scientists with 3,500-kilometre journey in just 76 days.

Barely one year old female arctic fox began her journey
in Spitsbergen on March 26, 2018. Norwegian researchers followed her via a tracking device. She clocked 1,512 kilometers in 21 days, arriving in Greenland on April 16.
Her journey brought her to Ellesmere Island, Nunavut, just in time for Canada Day on July 1.

Roaming across icy terrain, the fox moved an average of 46.3 kilometers per day. The most it traveled in a single day was 155 kilometers across an ice sheet in Greenland. Probably more sliding than running! I wonder what was driving her to run all the way to Canada?

Sheesh. Thirty miles a day, every day, for two and a half months for a creature that's only about a foot tall. It puts human Ironman competitors to shame.
