Biden: Latino community is diverse 'unlike the African American community'

Here's another quote where he nailed it again: "Republicans are the people who believe in a color-blind society. Democrats are the ones who believe in identity and race politics."

 

And yet Biden's remarks was an insult to Black Americans. This could be a close race so Biden should not disrespect anyone if he wants to win.

 

Biden shouldn't be disrespecting towards groups and races of people if he wants to be a decent human being.

 

Sure, that too.

 

When one has a choice of which group is best worthy of respect, one makes that choice in an election cycle. African Americans saved Biden from Sanders. Latinos did not. So Biden made his choice. Note that Native Americans who are undoubtedly the most put upon of American minorities are not even mentioned. Too small a voting block!

 

The hell you can't find communities representing various African ethnic groups in America. Again, I live in Burlington VT, unique in its demographics. Our African-American citizens are both a minority in Vermont and a small minority within the larger Black community here.

My friend and neighbor, Garang, who I will meet up with later today, is as you might guess is Sudanese. One of the lost boys. There's a large contingent of Sudanese here in the Burlington area. They don't identify as African-American, nor as Sudanese-Americans. When asked it's answered confidently, I am from The Sudan. Hard to hide, the tribal markings are unique. They don't form enclaves, say like the Somalians, preferring interact in the larger milieu but it is a fraternity.

Here we have a growing number of Congolese, both Big Cong (DRC) and Small Congo examples. Growing not because of continued migration but because a few African-Americans with ancestral connections who reached out to help the refugees, mostly church groups, have moved here. Romantic migration lol. My education here is through Zeffarina, Big Congo, and Glory, Brazzaville-Congo.

The Congolese are very diverse, so even within the immigrant community the term homogeneous is disconnected from reality. To suggest big picture that Blacks in America aren't diverse shows spectacular ignorance.

Another measurable group here are from Haiti. Haitian's are unique in their experience as well and in no way can be defined, grouped or pigeonholed. Namely, like the Sudanese they don't much like anything Clinton or Obamaian. It's almost visceral, lol, odd right?

Louis Gates did a great service to African-Americans in helping them reestablish a connection to their heritage. Through DNA, remember American Lives, Gate's series on PBS? Over the years it has de-homogenized African-Americans. Combined with the near 20% of Blacks that are recent African immigrants who are culturally and ethnically diverse from each other, AND miles apart from most African-Americans in thought and culture, the melange of the Black demographic in America is anything but boringly uniform.

Of course but the slaves who were brought to America came primarily from West African territories. GOOGLE it. Ask for what area of Africa did the majority of slaves for the American colonies come from. Or what parts of AFRICA did most American slaves come from.

 

"The hell" as you say the recent immigrants such as Sudanese were not slaves sense did go through the process of mixing.
The majority the American population of Blacks were decedents of slaves. But you knew that.

This is how MOST white democrats view blacks, as ALL THE SAME. Biden is so ignorant he thinks they ALL come from Africa. They come from all over, Jamaica, Bermuda, Dominican Republic and many other Black MAJORITY countries. As I've said many times, the left doesn't care about black lives, they care about black VOTES.

My friend's Mom is a HUGE lefty and has even marched in BLM protests and just 2 weeks ago when my friend told her he was dating a black woman, she did not like it! All current African immigrants are refugees from various war torn regions.

All have lived in horror, not the descendents of horror generations past.

Look up Congo child soldiers.
Look up the numbers of civilian deaths this century in Brazzaville-Congo.
Look up the death, privation and brutality in Haiti.

Look it all up, you'll understand why the immigrant communities from Africa, save one, aren't participating in BLM or even identify with their cause.

Not to diminish the cause of Black's concerns in America but the refugees from Sub-Saharan Africa have an entirely different life experience.

Now, to the topic. Having Black skin does not equate to having uniformly the same experience, culture, goals, aspersions, ethics and dreams.

You should share your last line with Biden. He seems to think otherwise regarding Black Americans. According to Biden Latinos practice diversity, Blacks don't. Yeah, thats a racist belief.

 

I stated the differences between the between newer immigrants who may be Black and the older Black population.The diferences are:

1- The older populations are very much descendents of slaves.
2- Older Black population have had time to intermarry with other slave populations and their decendents have intermarried. They blended over time.
3- Modern day communications make it way easier for newer populations to keep a distinction.Of course slaves did not have that luxury and a boatload of slaves most likely did not go to the same plantation so their connection was lost right from the get go. This made the blending easier.

Remember also that the fewer population of Black people are very very very much fewer in number than the population that descended from slaves.

 

Ok so identify which race ( specifically) he "disrespected" over which race ( specifically). If you are making such a claim you have to disclose it.

Biden wants to energize the African American community which showed lower turnout in 2016. He can abandon them after he is elected.
