Biden says troops should be dishonorably discharged if they disobey order to get Covid vaccine

The White House said Tuesday it 'strongly opposes' a provision of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that prohibits the Pentagon from punishing or dishonorably discharging any service member who refuses a vaccine.

'The Administration strongly opposes section 716, which would detract from readiness and limit a commander's options for enforcing good order and discipline when a Service member fails to obey a lawful order to receive a vaccination,' the White House Office of Management and Budget said in a statement on the yearly bill that funds the Pentagon.

'To enable a uniformed force to fight with discipline, commanders must have the ability to give orders and take appropriate disciplinary measures.'

Sounds like our troops have some degree of legal protection, which is infuriating Biden.

If Biden has his way, this would greatly weaken the military which may be his plan.

Its also ironic that the article mentions commamders must have the ability to give orders as Biden defends Milley who undermined Trump.

A guy who is the 5 time military deferment world champion is in no position to judge soldiers who are currently serving. And why does he need vaccinated soldiers, what country is he planning on starting a war with?

On the one hand a soldier that wont follow orders is an unfit, useless, and potentially dangerous soldier. On the other hand the mass depletion of our forces is just as dangerous. Mix in the fact that this senile man's White House doesn't require illegal invading illegal invaders to be vaccinated despite there being 35x as many illegal invading scumbags as there are active duty US armed servicemen and this is one I don't know what side to come down on.

Vaccine requirements in the military are as old as George Washington himself.

Heck, even I had to get the anthrax vaccine and I don't remember all this partison whinning.

Slight correction: the Senators support the provision (which would prohibit dishonorable discharges for unvaccinated service members), and they oppose Biden's opposition to it.

 

I guess if you are not gonna do what the US Defence Forces ask of you.....you leave or you are discharged. What is the problem?

 

You arent wrong but there are some differences here...the vaccines are still experimental for a disease with low mortality in military aged persons and there is the issue of an honorable vs dishonorable discharge.

Also this isn't a real vaccine as it does not prevent infection, it merely makes an infection less severe with some variants.

 

The covid vaccine is the first and only phase 3 human trial mrna vaccine with no long term studies and with verifiable and video evidence of doctors not posting adverse affects to the cdc like they are legally required. Also they were not forced when they signed up.

Discharge them. But discharging dishonorably is absurd. There is nothing dishonorable about refusing a drug that they have no long term safety data on. Nothing whatsoever.

When the vaccinated can no longer spread the disease then you may have an argument strong enough to warrant mandatory vaccinations. Right now we do not have that.
