    https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/05/politics/biden-wednesday-speech/index.html

President-elect Joe Biden will make remarks Wednesday focusing on delivering relief to small businesses amid the coronavirus pandemic with a focus on helping minority-owned businesses, a transition spokesperson tells CNN.

Biden will outline "his commitment to ensuring direct relief reaches the small businesses that need help the most, with a focus on Black, Hispanic, Asian and Native American small business owners...

Strange. For some reason I thought our Constitution prohibited racial discrimination yet here it is. White people are to go to the back of the Covid relief bus.

Playing the race card is one of the reasons Trump lost. Move on. It gets old.

There is already another thread on it. If you hadn't cut off the quote, you'd have noticed that he is going to focus on equal access to resources for those underrepresented groups. Of course, we know for which purpose the quote was only shown in partial.

So you are saying white people should shut up and sit in the back of the Biden Covid aid bus? Not even at good attempt to deflect. Does the Civil Rights Law of 1964 not apply to white people?

Quote the rest of it if you like. I quoted what he said. People can read the entire article and draw their own conclusions. You care to take a stab at explaining what "underrepresented groups" means as used by Biden?

    From another source.]

    https://www.thefiscaltimes.com/newsletter/20210108-Biden-Calls-Trillions-More-Covid-Relief
Biden said he would also focus on getting aid to minority-owned small business

    "Underrepresented Groups"
    means non-white.

Define underrepresented. To me it sounds like a code word for everyone except white people.

And if minorities voted for Biden, then they’re represented.

"Our priority will be Black, Latino, Asian, and Native American owned small businesses, women-owned businesses, and finally having equal access to resources needed to reopen and rebuild."

    Next.

Why should any bill focus on minority groups? Why is RACE a factor in who gets money?? Why are they special? Will this apply to extremely successful minority owned businesses the same way AA doesn’t separate rich minorities from poor minorities?

hint: college acceptance will sooner take a black student from a wealthy household then a poor white student, even though the minority has far more privilege and opportunity. The white students aren’t given any free points no matter their economic situation, but black students do simply because of race or even partial minority status. A minority student looks better on the roles no matter what.

There is no such thing as a white business loan. But guess what...

Gosh. How awful of him to try to help Americans rather than sow discord by lying about a “fraudulent” election.

Republicans: dems don’t do anything for minorities!
Also republicans: dems need to stop helping minorities!

Me: Why do minority owned businesses need special extra attention when they have the same access as anyone else? Extra access actually because minorities receive special extra loans that white people aren’t eligible for. Unless minority owned businesses aren’t run as well universally, which would be a really racist assumption. Democrats assume they need more help simply because they’re minority owned. That’s a serious lack of faith in the competence of minority business owners. Funny I didn’t see Jewish mentioned in there. We’re minorities yet receive no special attention. Why is that?

Notice how liberals can't make up their minds if Asians are a minority or not?

As always, dems assume the black and brown people are too stupid and need their help, not the white people. The same dems think black and brown people are too stupid to acquire an I.D. or driver's license.

Trump seems to think they needed help, don’t you remember his platinum plan with ice cube?

Aren’t those the people you guys told us are on some sort of plantation? Why would you oppose helping those who are entrepreneurs?

Republicans will tell us dems want all blacks on welfare, then also get mad when dems help black entrepreneurs. Almost like they don’t want to help at all....

I don't oppose helping business owners, but I will not separate them by race. That's the very definition of racist. You should look at other things besides skin color and accept people as American citizens rather than just their race.

It’s pretty clear it’s not only going to be for minorities. But minority businesses are more likely to be in minority areas that would be harder to get financial help in.

Why would it be harder for them to get financial help? Loans are determined by credit score, financials, etc. It's done by underwriters who never meet anyone in person, often several states away.

According to one study, minority-owned businesses grew by 79 percent from 2007 to 2017. That represents a staggering 10-fold increase compared to overall small-business growth for the same period.

However, the strength in numbers does not translate to financing. Data from the U.S. Commerce Department’s Minority Business Development Agency shows that minority-owned businesses face significant financing gaps:

    • Minority-owned businesses are less likely than white-owned businesses to secure funding, especially for businesses with less than $500,000 in gross receipts.
    • Loans for minority-owned businesses are smaller than for white-owned companies. For non-minority businesses with more than $500,000 in annual gross revenue, the average loan amount is $310,000. For minority-owned businesses, it’s $149,000.

If they do not have the data and credit to back up loans, then they will not get them. No one should force banks to give risky loans. It doesn't matter what race they are. Sorry.
