According to this one German study I quoted, 78% had heart damage which they worried would result in heart failure a few years down the road. Not confirmed by larger studies, though. But my point is that complications are worse than anticipated. My gut feeling, without confirmation because there hasn't been enough studies and enough observation of this novel disease regarding mid-term, let alone long-term consequences (for the good reason that nobody has been a long-term survivor of COVID-19 yet as the disease has only emerged 9 months ago) is that 5% of people will have significant trouble. That is generous in view of the German study but I'm discounting the fact that it was a small study with no large confirmation.

Contrary to your accusation of fear mongering, I've been advocating for prudence, not panic. It's a novel and peculiar viral disease that behaves differently from other respiratory viruses (like I demonstrated above) and it is quite unpredictable; we don't know yet what the full range and full incidence of sequelae will be but it certainly doesn't look too good from the public health standpoint. So, it's best to avoid it and wait for a vaccine rather than over-expose oneself under the idea that it is harmless like a little flu and most people recover.

That most people recover is no consolation for the ones who don't, either by death (in this case no consolation for their loved ones left behind), or by severe sequelae.

Again, anecdotal, but I was seeing on TV one of these days the interview with this beautiful and previously healthy young lady, 20 years old, an athlete and good student, who had her life curtailed by COVID-19, giving a halting, short of breath interview right before being taken to the OR where she was scheduled to have one of her lungs removed, begging people to take this seriously. I guess if she read some of what you're writing here she would be quite outraged, with you calling it a "mild flu."

Among the medical community there is no doubt that this is a serious illness. Only people in denial pretend otherwise.

Life is just so unfair, isn't it? Why did God put disease on this earth?

I guess a better question might be why did Anthony and his friends engineer this virus for gain of function?

Show me all your posts where you pointed this out in response to the BLM/Antifa riots.

RELAX, IT’S BASICALLY A PRO-BIKER PROTEST RALLY: Editorial: ‘Utter disaster.’ Allowing Sturgis rally to go on puts nation at risk.

Say I had heard that Antifa was going to try to disrupt things there. Any word on how that’s going?

And all the “public health” people complaining about this can go impale themselves. They squandered all their moral authority rushing to line up in favor of the Black Lives Matter protests because they put politics over health. Now nobody will listen to them, because they’re a joke. If people die because they squandered their credibility, that’s their fault. They aren't disgraces to their profession, they've made their profession a disgrace.

If you want to sarcastically appeal to cheap emotions, be my guest. I've been just mentioning facts from scientific studies and real people's experiences. I deal in reality, not in denial.
Anthony and his friends did sponsor gain of function research, which the previous administration had deemed too dangerous, sure. But it's not "this" virus. This one is natural, not man-made, and not interfered with in any way, which has been lavishly demonstrated by its genome sequencing. No serious virologist endorses this conspiracy theory. This virus did NOT escape from the Wuhan Virology Lab. The fact that they were working on viruses of the same family there is coincidental, as thoroughly demonstrated by every virologist who looked into it. Given all the political pressure, there is a committee further investigating the matter. I'm 100% convinced that the conclusion will be, again, not man-made, and not interfered with. Again, there is a sub-forum here for conspiracy theories. This one is not it.

If anybody would know, it would be you. It's very good indeed that you are so confident your government would not deceive you. :applause:

    I was sure that was a photo-shopped shirt, so I went and checked. It's a legit, for-sale t-shirt.

The term "your government" presumed that you live in some western country with a government.

Speaking of virology, I'm a recent reader of Judy Mikovits' book A Plague of Corruption. The intro by Mr. Kennedy Jr. was most informative about the history of vaccines in the US of A. The entire book was most informative.

The "what are you talking about" refers to your assumption that I am deceived by "my government." You assume things about me, without knowing me, obviously. I don't pay attention to what "my government" says, including because the head of "my government" is an accomplished liar. I pay attention to scientific papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and I speak from the standpoint of my professional training and practice. Oh, you read a book. Good for you.

Your fervent hope is well-placed. It is fulfilled. As surprising as you may think, there are still ethical people out there.

The right on this forum have no shame posting endless pictures of unattractive democrats. I wish team D would take the higher road, but neither team seems capable of getting out of the 3rd grade. This is who we are, now.

I'll be the champion of the first team that decides to grow up and behave like adults.

    Deal?

I am not expert but I have been watching the youtube videos of this and I would estimate at least 50 percent of the crowds are high risk candidates.

Oh, God, I hate it when some guy slaps my wife's ass!

She won't leave until I find at least 2 of this a-zzholes teeth from the blood and the beer after she cleans his clock! Guys never seem to learn that her 125 pound frame is hard as a rock from weight training.

Given that I'm not "the left" your observation is of no consequence to me.
