This is crazy! Congress needs some protection because they have to do some horrifying, divisive, bad news for the people things as part of their job.

Congress knew, that's why they had a place to hide. Pence had a place to hide. He knew too. The only one who didn't have a place to hide was the President. He was out in the open.

 

Yes, but the President has secret service protecting him. The Congress critters don't have that security, at least as far as I know.

now, I do not know if it was to help them, or just that they though a show of force would make Trump look bad due to the optics, but either way it's dangerous
