    Which country is that?
It might be that the more populated areas in your country, where most of the job opportunities are, are over populated.
That is certainly the case in the US.

There's theoretically plenty of "room", yet most Americans are practically forced by economic necessity to live in overcrowded areas.
And of course immigration does not help matters, because these immigrants are mostly not moving to the rural areas that have plenty of room.

And then there's whole regions of the country that are economically depressed, when at a former time in history they were economically vibrant. They still have "room", but have seen depopulation, as the job opportunities there are not very good.

I did start a thread about that which gives some more specifics about where exactly some of these areas are: Declining Regions in the U.S.

Significant commerce requires solid housing, solid roads, trains, commercial level airports, trucking systems, etc. Certain businesses will require more electric and water and gas than some areas can provide. Yes all of this stuff can be facilitated but it's at a huge cost most rural areas are incapable of supporting...

There are 'few' rich business owners? Most corporations are publicly owned. This issue is not about 'rich people'.

There are myriad reasons for poverty and none of them have to do with 'rich people'.

In SF, it has been stated that it requires a $250K salary in order to purchase a home. Rents/leases are $3000-$5000/month or more. Based on this fact, how do you believe everyone earning $75K or less, specifically $35K (median income) or $55K (household income), are doing in SF? Workers can buy a house in bedroom communities for $500K+ and commute 1+ hours each way...these people will live pay check to pay check and barely afford the essentials. One small hiccup in income, like pregnancy, health issue, divorce, layoff, etc. and they are financially doomed.

    Again, I said 'county'...not country?

'Room' has no meaning unless the 'room' can facilitate people and business to the levels each demands...

Oh, please. There is a difference between a corporation's shares being "publicly held" and the corporation being "publicly owned." And FYI, most corporations are closely held, not publicly held, because the regulatory and reporting burden is too onerous for the millions of small incorporated businesses to sustain.
Yes, it is. We have poverty not because we cannot meet the need of the poor, but because we can never sate the greed of the rich.
Bull$#!+. Most poverty is caused by privilege, the same thing that has caused most substantial accumulations of private wealth. See above.
All because Proposition 13 forces the state and all local governments in CA to give exorbitant, increasing, and unsustainable subsidies to landowners.

The falsity of this claim needs to be explained in more detail. There are essentially three causes of poverty:
    1. Misfortune: accident, illness, crime, the genetic dice coming up snake-eyes, etc. This is the least important cause, but it does happen.
    2. Fecklessness: poor work habits, squandering of money, bad attitude, dishonesty, etc. These voluntary choices of behavior that leads to poverty are more common, but still cause less poverty than the main cause.
    3. Privilege: legal removal of people's rights and their conversion into the private property of the privileged without just compensation. This is by far the most important factor, and is the cause of most poverty. Most of the poor would be able to support themselves if they didn't have to pay the privileged full market value just for permission to do so.

Ok then, the issue might have to do with the CEO not wanting to relocate, even though it might be the best thing for his workers, and possibly even the most optimal financial thing for the business.

There are probably also some additional structural factors that contribute to economic wellbeing.

Yes, it is very complicated. But very important too.

You might claim it's unfair, but is it still so bad when these subsidies are only given to (single) home owners?

Obviously, stealing $10G/yr and giving it to rich, greedy, privileged parasites is not as bad as stealing $20G/yr and giving it to rich, greedy, privileged parasites.

I think not being taxed on your (single) home you live in is a little bit different from not being taxed on investment property.

    But I guess that's a topic for another discussion/thread.

Not very. The question is, do you have a right to use land to sustain your life because you are a human being with rights to life, liberty, and property in the fruits of your labor, or do you only have those rights if you own some land? And the corollary question is, do you owe the community for all that you take from the community, or should you not have to pay for what you take that is devoted entirely to your own personal use?
Maybe. Or maybe I just ended it.

CEO's are governed by Board of Directors...the BofD are governed by the viability and profitability of the company...shareholders respond positively to sound business decisions...
