    No

Calling someone a thug is racially motivated. Just like illegal alien is.
    No he isn’t.

Is this aimed at Jews. I really have no clue. Any sources?

Are you admitting that being here illegally is a crime?

because they are using this hate as an attack against legal Americans....

if the person was actually here illegal, the law would not apply - so if one is gonna harass people during a hate crime, they better be sure they are on the right side of the law

So if I make a reference to union thugs I'm being racist? It seems kind of racist to want to assign this term to a specific race.

When did it become OK to champion the cause of criminals? There should be efforts to boot them back across the border, not to protect their feelings.

How do they know whether it was motivated by "hate" or whether it was just because that's what they are??

I don’t get why you guys think playing dumb is an effective argument.

Because that expression's been around way before the pc crowd hi-jacked the term. It has never been about race, not sure why you want to associate it with a race. Union-thugs I think is the most common usage.

Meanings and use of slang change quite frequently. Playing dumb doesn’t change that.

Let me know when I claimed to be, and maybe your question will be relevant.

Assigning whatever meaning you want to words. In the case of this thread, the word in question is 'thug'.

I personally hate that racists want to assign this term to a specific race. I find it an absurd notion that there aren't thugs of all colors and stripes.

Guess what all of you geniuses missed: The guidance is for all public accommodations, employment and housing, the city's Commission on Human Rights said.

It has nothing to do with personal free speech.

I don't think it was racially motivated when I used it while chasing off a white tweaker who was trying to break into my shed.

Nor does continuing and promoting the racist stereotype that a certain race is thuggish.

What if you're simply motivated by linguistic accuracy? ... And these stupid laws that reference "motivation" just keep proliferating. An act is either a crime or it isn't. Prosecutors aren't even required to prove "motive"(ation), although they often bring it in because juries are curious. It's usually the defense hammering at motivation as an excuse or to mitigate a crime. I mean really......if I get beaten up because someone wanted to rob me or if I get beaten up because they don't like white women, the result (being beaten up) is the same. What's going on re: motivation in the criminal's head is irrelevant, unless they can be proven not guilty by reason of insanity.
