And let's not forget that we have evidence that this is undercounting. We haven't even hit the last quarter of the year, and we aren't into the part of the year where these kinds of deaths often spike. Social distancing and working from home and somewhat consistent mask-wearing will help keep the numbers down, but there's no way we get out of this without more than a quarter million dead, on the conservative side.

 

How many "moments of silence" will it take for this to sink in? Unconscionable.

Well, start with heart disease. That kills 600,000 every year. 2,300 every single day.

Or, maybe, diabetes, which kills more people every year than COVID has in 2020.

Where's the rage and demands for totalitarian control of diets over diabetes and heart disease?

By the way - what is the excess death rate from COVID? Not the number that have died, but the number above what is the usual death rate in the United States.
Since 45% of COVID deaths are in nursing homes and similar facilities, that rate is going to be much less scary.

The leftist sheep are outraged that the head shepherd has abdicated his supposed duties to protect them from the COVID wolf, leaving them utterly helpless and without direction. So, now they are outraged over a death toll that is fairly moderate compared the rest of the world (when counted as deaths per million.) Meanwhile, the same ruling class they install year after year kills, or causes the death of, hundreds of thousands in the Middle East every year and they remain silent. The left has lost direction and become a group of truly self-pitying, cowardly whiners.

 

For those of us who have lost family members, I really don't get the impression that you are actually heart felt in your sympathy. What I perceive is folks, like you, who really want a paradigm of the more the merrier, as you seem to believe that somehow your hyperbolic sympathy will absolve you of the avarice of the power you seek for your political party.

I have family members who have tested positive, three went to the hospital. Of the three who went to the hospital, two had significant existing health issues. The other was obese. One with the significant existing health issues died. They died AFTER testing negative, TWICE to covid from one of the significant preexisting conditions. The other two are both released and recovered from their infection of WuFlu.

The otherwise non WuFlu infected member of my family who died was still counted as a COVID death. Funny how that worked. The local county folk told the immediate family that even though his death was not directly linked to COVID that his death would still be counted that way for "reporting" and "Future funding" reasons.

I realize this is anecdotal, and it is personal for me. But knowing that this is happening, having real life experience with it, the experience doesn't lead me to have faith in the count that has accumulated the current total. More, if this kind of methodology were attempted, Flu deaths, in general, would be in the tens, if not hundreds of millions in this country. This is one of the most dishonest narratives out there today. The left fret over a condition they privately applaud because it generally helps, in their minds, to elect their dementia patient for president. It's unholy.

Yup, a local woman in her 90s with Stage Four cancer died with COVID, guess what they listed the cause of death?

 

Someone should let him know that there is always room for improvement so assigning himself an A+ feeds into the narrative that he is narcissistic.

It's hard to imagine what this loss means unless you are directly impacted. I think that is one challenge in getting some to understand how this pandemic is far more tragic then the seasonal flu. I'm struck how some don't seem to understand that death is not the only outcome being dealt by this pandemic. Many people who are not showing severe symptoms are still likely to have long term health issues that may not surface for several years to come for the very reason that we are still discovering how this virus is affecting us and how it will mutate.

 

It has already been proven that the makeup of this virus was not manufactured. Scientist can look at the virus structure and tell whether it's been manipulated or unnaturally altered. Of course, that does not mean that the virus could have been better contained in China. We can certainly discuss who did what when but we should also acknowledge the deaths of many Americans and that this is a real tragedy to their loved ones.

 

Someone still hasn't taken a look at the excess death reports. We, objectively, are NOT undercounting the deaths. The math proves this.

We have well over 200,000 EXCESS deaths this year. That means, this time the last 5 or so years, we had lost 200,000 less people.
