Listen, we all have our political differences, if you want to see a person whose political views are perfectly aligned with your own, you need to look in the mirror. We all have our differences from one another, admittedly some more than others, but at the end of the day we are all human. It doesn't matter if your political affiliation is different from my own, at the end of the day I still do care about your health and your well being.

Look, I have close relatives with vastly different political views from my own, including my own parents. They're no less family because of our differences in politics, and likewise you are not less human because of your political views. I want you to be well, I want your families to be well.. and there's no if's and's or but's about it. Your well being is important to me as a human being, and that is final.

So please, for your own health, for the health of your family, and for the health of your country, wear a mask. You don't have anything to lose from it, and if we can all act in unison in wearing masks, we can greatly help prevent this awful virus from spreading, and we can get our lives back to normal again sooner rather than later. Forget what your congressman, your senator, your governor, or your president says for a moment, because evidently when they speak the message gets distorted into political turmoil.

My point is this, don't wear a mask because your political leaders tell you to it, do it because it's what the doctors who tirelessly work to contain this virus recommend. Do it because it's the rational thing to do. Even if you don't believe the virus is as dangerous as they say it is, if you are right and you wear a mask, you still have absolutely nothing to lose, but if you are wrong, you are helping contain a worldwide pandemic and saving countless lives. Consider the risk vs reward of wearing a mask vs not wearing one, and the choice is obvious

Why you asking me? I don't have a choice in the matter everywhere I go requires it. My employer requires it.

Should I wear a mask when I am in my car all by myself?

Masks aren’t going to be what stops the virus. Only the vaccine is. I’m glad to take a fine to remain a free thinker in country becoming more and more authoritarian. A governor cannot tell me to wear a mask. You want to really help out the country? Kick out every governor that put a mandate in effect—both red and blue.

According to the doctors who have researched the virus, you are five times more likely to contact the virus if nobody wears a mask when going out in public. The masks won't stop the virus, but they can help us contain it. I don't care what the governors say, I'm wearing a mask because its what doctors are recommending

I'm wearing a mask as I DON'T want to chance getting someone in my family sick. What someone else does with their family is on them AS long as they don't get anyone in my family sick.

I would lose immunity to it from not being exposed to it.

I'd rather get it now and be immune then get it when I'm older and be more at risk.

So are you saying that you are trying to contact the virus?

TOO LATE! Unfortunately its been politicized too much and now people wear or don't wear masks because of politics instead of SCIENCE. I'm a proud Trumper and Mask wearer. I've been hiking often lately and people DON'T put them on when they pass me on a trail and they don't even make an effort to keep a safe distance. People suck!

In fact there are no such studies proving the efficacy of masks especially the generic reuseable cloth ones. If you can afford a fitted n95 go for it but don't forego
    eye protection either.

For what it is worth there are some studies purporting to show that transmission by asymptomatic carriers is essentially nil. Normal breathing seems not to produce covid carrying droplets.

Doctors have to earn trust before you really can believe them. I learned this the hard way with a relative. Especially doctors that end up almost contradicting themselves publicly, like Fauci has. It’s not a matter of knowing what you know at the time, don’t make a statement until you have learned everything. Especially in public. And Fauci hasn’t necessarily done that, so why in gods name would I trust him? Because he’s a s doctor?

Trust is earned, not given. People have good reason to be skeptical of Fauci.

If you go months without being ill, you most likely don’t have the virus.

In which case he have had to keep quiet for about six to eight months. We still no every thing we should about this disease 6 months in and the amount of misinformation especially early on from guaranteed an exceptional body count.

Aside from stockpiling vulnerable people in a nursing home? Yeah. It’s going to sound crazy, but I think people are becoming hypnotized. They see what’s on TV, they see what’s in photos, they don’t think for themselves and are manipulated. It’s how a new normal forms. People also become paranoid. You don’t see people’s faces, living life, all you see is people wearing masks and limiting what they do.

It’s a sad stare of affairs. Idk about you, but the idea of this country adopting this authoritarian ideology is more terrifying to me than catching the virus itself.

~ I agree. I also believe many of us do . The social engineering psychology is exactly what China does. Nazi Germany is another example. Sadly some are afflicted with another kind of psychological dysfunction - Trump Delusional Syndrome. This is contagious from media and the "progressive" Democrats on Capitol Hill.

Up until the last part I agreed with. The president, on both sides, will be connected to whatever crisis hits, and the ballot box will reflect how their job performance is. We judged Bush for Katrina, Obama for Sandy, and now it makes sense to judge Trump on Covid.

~ I disagree. I judged Bush#2 on his disastrous bungling of 9-11 & Iraq . Obama was an idiot with a pleasant speaking voice and good speech writers - just another shill figurehead. I blame WHO and the communist Chinese party for the Wuhan virus. I see it as a deliberate act of terrorism on the west. Trump has done well with all the bad information and obstacles he has to deal with.

There is no evidence, yet, that getting it keeps you immune going forward.

Too many people don't understand even the very basics of science. People who've made up their minds that masks are not effective, will listen to no logic, no reason and generally have chosen to remain ignorant.

They listen to their favorite doctor; the one who says you get STDs by having sex with demons in your dreams. That's the "scientist" they trust.
