There you have it.....give a Demo an inch and they will take miles. A Semi-Automatic weapon ban. Which they specifically name 205 guns that fit the description. The left and anti gun crowd will not see anything come from this bill. Trump wont be supporting this ban. Nor signing any such bill that makes it to his desk. What say ye?

So it begins. House Democrats introduced the Assault Weapons Ban of 2018 on Monday. Put forward by Reps. David Cicilline (D-RI) and Ted Deutch (D-FL), and signed by more than 150 other Democrats, the legislation would make it “unlawful for a person to import, sell, manufacture, transfer, or possess, in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce, a semiautomatic assault weapon.”

The authors specifically name at least 205 guns that fit the description, including the AK-47 and the AR-15, the latter of which was used by Nikolas Cruz when he opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School earlier this month and killed 17 people.

“Assault weapons were made for one purpose,” Cicilline said in a statement. “They are designed to kill as many people as possible in a short amount of time. They do not belong in our communities.”

Florida Republican Brian Mast would agree with Cicilline and Deutch in terms of the AR-15. In a New York Times op-ed, the Army veteran explained why the firearm does not belong in civilians' hands.

The White House opposes the ban, offering alternative solutions. Instead of an all-out ban on semiautomatic guns, Trump has approved the ban of bump stocks, a modification that increases the speed of fire on a semi-automatic firearm.

In the two weeks since the tragedy in Florida, the president has also insisted we pay more attention to mental health, suggesting Monday that we revisit mental institutions and improve our warning system. He has also consistently called for concealed carry in schools, yet has noted that only teachers with firearm training should be carrying a gun. .....snip~

The DP will run AGAINST the NRA, the COTUS, guns, the booming economy, tax cuts. Did they hire Steve Schmidt to come up with that plan? ;-)

Yep if I am having to defend my home and family I sure don't want a weapon that will do so.

Restricting some guns isn't stopping guns from being sold.

Dunno.....but we do know that in Demo Controlled areas will play on the wording and terminology. So that they can also go after Semi Auto pistols.

The good news is.....Trump wont sign that bill.

The Demos just made their biggest mistake of 2018 and any RINO's with them.....they can forget about the House, the Senate, the Presidency, and they might want to start packing their bags and hurry over to Europe for safety.

You keep hearing that no one is trying to ban *ALL* guns. You already have about 200 calibers to choose from, plus a variety of pump action. bolt action, and lever action. Just a few of a short list of available calibers to choose from might be:

    .243
    .25
    .25-35
    .257
    .270
    .30
    .30-30
    .30-06
    .300
    .303
    .308
    .32
    .340
    .348
    .35
    .357
    .38
    .44
    .45

Each with from 3 to about 8 permutations.

    How many do you need?

If there aren't enough gun brands and types of guns left to satisfy your right to bear arms, you've got a problem.

WTF is a "semi-automatic assault weapon"?

    That's a contradiction in terms...

You need to learn how to count. The country is tried of these killings and we are going to do something about it, with or without the right-wing butt wipes!

Outlawing something only means law abiding citizens will comply. Democrats really can't be stupid enough to think a mere law will stop gun violence and murders, can they?
