On the border democrats dont want a fence to keep out criminal invaders. They say fences dont work anyway.

But ----------------------- Look at Fort Pelosi in Washington. The Capitol has a huge long fence around it.

My question is WHY is it good in Washington and not on the border????

Because the influx of people who want to work, produce and make this country great is a good thing. Whereas terrorists who want to destroy it are bad.

Fences work very well when it's your fence. Hence the Ft. Pelosi fence and all the private fences Senators and Representatives have on their private properties. There's a saying that good fences make good neighbors. Too bad it's been forgotten.

So you don't understand the difference between a country and a building. Got it.

    That's an interesting question.

Size matters (sorry, guys ... true statement ;-) ). The fencing around a building or group of buildings can be easily watched. A fence nearly 2,000 miles in length, covering a lot of rough, difficult terrain can not be watched at all times unless you have enough guards to post at regular sight-line distances. We could use camera drones ... much cheaper than walls or fences, and those watching the drone feeds could be housed in a nice, air-conditioned office building anywhere in the country, reporting possible crossings to border parrols on the ground.

If you were getting constant death threats, you'd build a fence around your place, too. Maybe even electrified, with razor wire on the top.

So there seems to be people who think a 2,000 mile wall is the same as a fence around a building?

If you put up a 14 foot fence the white supremacists will just get a 15 foot ladder.

While I do think the fence is beyond silly, you'd have to agree a fence around a build is a tad easier to monitor than a 2,000 mile wall, right?

Ditto the undocumented at the southern border. Fences have never deterred anyone but the law-abing.

If allowing foreign nationals from all over earth to come and go unchecked and unregulated benefits America, Chinacrats would shut it down.

Chinacrats want to turn America into a dumping ground for the world's criminals.

Trump would never put razor wire on his southern border wall. That's the kind of thing despots and dictators do. I don't know why the Biden administration has chosen to use razor wire around the capitol building like that.

Sure if you decide you need to monitor it. The real question is which is more needed, a fence on the border or one around the capitol.

Clearly the border is a necessity and the Capital is about ginning up a Reichstag-like hysteria.

Growing up in Los Angeles, I lived in fear of my life from gang members. These gangs strengthen their numbers through illegal immigration and create neighborhoods unsafe for children to play outside of walk to school. They also benefit from gun laws that provide them with easy victims.

My neighborhood was so dangerous, the police station wanted to build a wall around it. I had to grow in in a neighborhood destroyed by gangs. I am fortunate to have raised my children in a safe neighborhood. Had I not seen the results of illegal immigration, I would likely share your luxurious opinion.

Why do most of the illegals come to America?

If you lived in Washington last month, you might have been in fear of your life from domestic terrorists.

Or maybe not you... I don't know.

Evidence, please.... Show us what percentage of gang members are illegal immigrants.

Who is calling for letting them in unchecked? Please quote a politician on either side of the aisle stating that.

Barriers around a small location serve to slow intruders, and are much easier to guard, and much cheaper than a 'border wall'. Moreover, the capitol fence encompasses the entire edifice, the border wall does not go all the way across the border, far short of the distance, in fact, and you know the story about Achille's Heel.

A several hundred mile fence, much harder to guard, and because of that fact, much easier to overcome, which means, therefore, any expenditure for it's creation (which is considerable, given it's size) is basically a waste of money, noting that 50% of all illegal immigrants are visa overstays.

In other words, apples and oranges.

Very clever asking me to count the undocumented. Lets say that illegal immigrants are less likely to commit crime than citizens. How do you explain your position of outlawing private gun ownership when CCW holders are least likely to commit violent crime?

I never said anything about razor wire on the border fence. Read it again.

I don't like the fact that the felt they had to fence the Capitol in DC at all, but we both know why they did, and it had everything to do with Trump and his supporters.

Did I? Did you not post about fences and ladders? Do you believe they don't try that at the border? Heck, Trumpies 47 total miles of new fencing have already fallen prey to a battery operated chain saw.

If you don't trust Vice as a source, google it yourself ... there are many articles on this.
