Dinesh D'Souza pisses off the alt-left once again with his comment that, with the exception of the leaders, no Republicans owned slaves before 1860...

No one in the independent United States of America owned slaves before 1776 for the same reason Republicans did not own slaves before 1860. Neither of those entries existed prior to their birth.

No state of the US had slaves prior to 1776.

It's a shame that we still need to address slavery everyday and how the left obsesses over it. I've heard the new democrat platform will be reparations for slavery - how much will the people who captured and sold them kick in? What should insult the left is the thought that mere dollars could make the pain and anguish go away (most notably to people who weren't alive at the time, probably can't name a single slave or may have arrived in this country after slavery ended)

While the thought of slavery is fresh in the minds of the left like it happened last week, they seem to forget that the Germans and Japanese used slaves during WWII. Or that the pyramids and Great Wall Of China were built using slaves - they spend big bucks to vacation at those sites. And then there's modern day slavery, slavery which is still going on today and I'm speaking of the sort employed by Muslims and Mexicans, the very people the left wants to import.

How the left can speak of slavery in such vivid and painful ways yet totally forget who attacked us on 911 is telling.

They say when you're given lemons to make the best of it and whip up some lemonade, so the people who would never be in this country were it not for slavery should take advantage of the fact they're here rather than obsessing over something they will never change. I don't obsess over the Armenian genocide or the abject discrimination suffered by the Irish and Italians 100 years ago, a time when I actually did have living relatives who had to live through that.

As for reparations, give me the name of a slave and where he's buried at and I'll send him a check, if he's the one who suffered then he's the one who should get the money - and my ancestors weren't even in this country until the 1920s, long after slavery ended.

BTW, blacks in this country owned slaves and I believe the first slave owner was a black man.

The native Americans had slaves long before we got here. Just because a person had slaves doesn't mean the owner was white and the slave was black.

When blacks and the left learn real history that the first slave owner in Colonial America was a black man not a white man.

All black decedents of Anthony Johnson owe restitution to every black American who decedents were slaves and every decedent of someone who fought during the War Between the Sates (The Great Rebellion / American Civil War )

Wow! So Republicans only bought slaves after 1860!

This is so freaking lame. The Republican and Democrats from a century past have nothing to do with today. They have reversed roles since the 50s.

Typical meaningless answer. The Republican party was founded as an anti slavery party. That is documented fact. It's not even debatable.

All the politicians I know that were in the KKK are Democrats. Another fact liberals choose to ignore.

Last time I looked it up, the KKK supported Trump and not Clinton.
And I got my doubts they would support Obama.

Once again you ignore the facts.

Donald Trump has never been in the KKK.

Senator Robert Byrd (D) and Senator Al Gore Sr. (D) were.

The point your D'Souza left off, which all demogogue revisionist leave out, is that unlike today, the Democrat Party at the time was the party made up of CONSERVATIVES, you didn't really think that the Radical Republicans were called radical because they were conservative did you?
