Anyone that cannot differentiate between a cartoon and real life shouldn't have access to weapons.

The Looney Tunes have been censored since the early 2000 on Cartoon Network. They censored Wile E. Coyote blowing himself up or falling from a cliff for exemple. They also did it with the Daffy Duck/Bugs Bunny classic where Daffy keeps getting shot in the face by Elmer. they cut just before the shot is fired and then resumed after the shot. For the coyote they cut before the explosion or just as he's about to hit the ground.

This is why I bought the uncensored DVD boxed sets when they came out.

    Marvin gets to keep his.
    Why?
He's an illegal alien, so the rules don't apply to him.

A six year old doesn't have money or transportation. How could they possibly get access to a weapon without an adult being involved?

An adult is involved with that by not securing weapons properly.

Looney Tunes never claimed a firm grip on reality, being why we loved them, but they're following the wrong advice in making this misstep that will endear them to no one and make absolutely no difference whatsoever in anything except to alienate their fans. It's very sad that America has gone off the deep end in everything. There is absolutely no justification for any of it. Most everyone knows that, but they do it anyway. Why? Out of fear, I think, and that's very telling of the danger at our door.

I recall no such controversies. Ever ... well, until women became a powerful force in politics, anyway. I don't think anyone has stood back and analyzed just how problematic a lot of their politics has been.

I'm going to guess that none of the opposition has been based on actual science that supports their contention that watching fictional cartoon characters blowing each other up actually compels people to imitate them in reality. I'm not familiar with any such evidence, just that some people find it icky.

Stop the icky! Stop the icky! Then we'll make a better world!

Who are you to tell people what to do? What difference does it possibly make to you what others do in the privacy of their own homes? Please do tell.

You are simply trying to make "better, more feel-good" statistical charts for yourselves. Nobody else cares.

How many is "plenty"? One? Ten?

Anyway, likely never watched Looney Tunes. But, you know, there is that possibility they might have once ...

Young childrens learn by immitating what they saw more then by what they're told. There have been many cases of kids killing other kids playing make beleive with their parents gun.

Such is the fault of parents not doing their job, rather than the fault of whatever entertainment they are subjected to.

No, there have not been many cases of children imitating what they've watched and murdering other children. That's a lot of liberal bullshit, as is your entire post.

So, let me understand, cartoons, a form of generally violent children’s entertainment that has been around for over 100 years influences children, but violent video games and violent Hollywood entertainment doesn’t have any effect? Interesting.
Parents teach young children life survival skills like not running into traffic, sticking metal things into wall sockets, not putting their hands into fire or on a hot stove but don’t teaching children about gun safety from a young age is Taboo? When did it become the norm for parents to abdicate their parental role of teaching life skills to their children? When, it was decided it takes a village to raise a child?

When parents became too lazy to properly raise their children and pushed that responsibility off on society as a whole.

Parents can't be 100% of the time monitoring their kid. This is real life.

That is my opinion. I never put trust into anyone outside my clan to teach mine; certainly when it came to teaching life survival skills. The two girls I raised I trust in any situation; they are both independent, self sufficient, and have critical thinking and situational assessment skills far beyond most young people I observe it this country. I have high confidence that my grandchildren, if and when that happens will be well trained to be the same.
Just an aside, when my youngest was in HS, she went on a date with one of those fellows of the ‘in’ group. It may have been the first time I allowed her to go on a date with a fellow doing the driving. I probably would be one of those fathers you don’t wasn’t to pi** off by mucking with one of my girls. But, that said, I learned from her sis, the fellow did put the moves on her on the way home after a school football game. Before she finished the story, in retrospect, she obviously saw my demeanor begin to go from 0 to light speed, so she said, ‘Da, it got sorted; he got damaged and his cast will be advertisement to that fact. If she hadn’t taken care of it I would have’. Funny, his family threatened to sue... never happened. I am certain, both girls were well trained by Elmer Fudd....Lol.
